Bally pro 6000 black and white double jackpot slot machine .... It belongs to my dad and he hit the cashout button and got an 88FF ..0 error code . purchased saferam clear chips and when I received them I tried to do a complete saferam clear. When i turn on the power switch holding the test and pseudo coin button all I get is the red test led flashing on the mpu board .... I'm thinking either bad clear chips or bad board. Put u28 and u43 chips back in and still 88FF..0 . The machine just had a new battery put in before my dad bought it. Any help would be great .....

I would also suspect the clear chips. The fact that the board reports the code with the mains in would suggest that if the Saferam chips were good, then it would do more.  If you installed the saferam chips in backwards or in the opposite sockets, then they(at least one of them ) will be bad.  Did you purchase them from a reputable dealer?

An 88 code can lead to a bad board, however.

Thanks,
Wayne

New to slot machines but not new to electronics. Saferam chips went in the right sockets the right way. Not sure if they were a reputable dealer or not they seem to deal in alot of used parts and just happen to have the exact glass for the machine after two weeks of searching. At this point this is when my dad got the error so i just ordered everything from the same place. Just need to know where to go from this point. U18 and U20 have the labels peeled off and the socket written on them. U28 and U43 have the labels mostly there and the year 2005 on them.

Thanks,  Tom

I'm working on setting one up. I got that code with red light flashing.
I got another set of clear chips out & everything went as should for setup.

The vendor will likely replace the clear chips with a good set.  When you send them back, they can test them.

65 is the mechanical meters are disconnected.  You'll need to connect them.

I should mention that some mains don't care if the meters are connected, however others require them to be connected.  Was this a working machine prior to the error or a machine that was never fully working? Or, did you change to a different set of mains?

Thanks,

check the pins at the connectors at the back of the board to see if any are bent. look very closely.  if they are good then check your meters.
