I've always read that you can only use a Sound Card with a SB Chip of 00-99.
I have a Triple Play &  I forgot to remove the 0042 Sound Card when I installed that kit..
The board is a newer 1270, July 2007.
I went to  3, sound,  & changed everything that is necessary to change the sound to enhanced (Preferred) & all the sounds are correct, 0042.. No Legacy.
Is this the only exception ? I only have one more S+ kit & that's the three coin Phantom & I have only tried the Phantom sound card..
thanks anyone.

DSV0042 is not a theme specific sound SIMM.
It is a gerneric vision sound SIMM
It will work with most SB chips including the SB001000,
Theme Specific Sound SIMM's must use the SB chip for them or the SB chip must be 000001 to 000099
There are other generic Sound SIMM's that work with SB001000.

It is not tied to any specific theme  on any list I have come across.
All state it is a Vision Sound SIMM.
It works with more than 60 percent of the base chips for the S2000.
I am not counting the Vision or Reel touch themes (ones that require a vision computer, reel touch computer, or other bonus type hardware in top box (WOF., Top Dollar, etc)

And I am not the only one to call it generic.

Since when is a 42 a GENERIC VISION sound simm?

One of my lists has it shown as a "Vision SiMM" Idesign, although it doesn't refer to it as "generic".
Would you have a different list we may see?
I'd be interested in that for future help for our members here at NLG.
