Trying to get scrolling messages on a CHAMII controller to work with no luck. Hardware is a CHAMII controller and a CHAMII 12 cell mini display. Software is STA V2.14 and I am running PSP V2.0. Jackpot programming set and incrementing with base and current amount equal.

Using:
JPOT.DO for scrolling message
Have set MFILE to 0
Machine address =2
F4 M-08
F8 MS08

Have tried F5 send demo and get loading then display goes blank and then starts to re-boot over and over. Hvae tried simple message ( Shift+f1 then 8, F3,F6,F1, then simple message) get loading and same results as sending demo file.

Any help or advise would be appreciated.

Machine address really doesn't matter in a standalone progressive. Your setting of 2 is fine.
IF you have 6 machines on a linked progressive each machine has its own unique number, this is so you can identify which was the winning machine.
Theoretically machine 3 hits its jackpot, 2 seconds later machine 4 hits its jackpot.
THe casino now has to determine who gets the big pot and who gets the reset-base amount.

M08 & MS08 is a timing parameter for the incremental and jackpot signaling.

The PSP language:
Start Paragraph needs to be first, then you choose Travel Mode or Block Mode
Travel scrolls, Block Centers.
If you don't start with either of these not sure how the display will behave, but I have never heard of one rebooting.
Commands like left justify, right justify only works in block mode.

Hope this helps.

First, is your computer communicating with the controller?  If you update the current jackpot amount and send it, does the meter reflect the change?

Second, if you do have communication, make sure to send updates for jpot.do immediately after the controller finishes booting.  That is, unplug the power to the Mikohn board, wait a few seconds, then plug it back in.  Watch the boot sequence on the meter, and immediately after it finishes booting and starts displaying the dollar amount of the jackpot, then send your updated jpot.do.  (In theory you should be able to send changes to the meter at any time, but in practice it will only accept updates to jpot.do right after the controller is rebooted.)
