Since I have been unable to find certain progressive glass for my 5 reeler, I was thinking of putting a smaller Cham II
in the player tracking area.  Did they/ do they make a smaller display that would fir here?

Bunker, you are something else... bust gut laughing  bust gut laughing   Since my printer is in the tracking area, I cant see how I could make the fit (too Long) .

I thought of trying the Cham 3 but i cant get it to power up.  I have tried several 6-9 volt power supplies, but no joy.  Do you have the time or inclination to see if it works, if I send it your way??  Scratch Head

I did hook up a ChamIII 2 years ago....that was pretty cool!
I still have mine in a box someplace.

It was so easy.
All I had to do was plug it into the Netplex Power Distribution board
and it fired right up after going into the Options and playing around with the settings.

Let me ask a couple questions 1st:

Did you ever SEE your ChamIII working or did it die on ya?

I fried my 1st one by touching the back of it onto some metal. Bzzt! Poof!
It's probably repairable but I have no idea what IC component burned out on it.
There's nothing visibly wrong with anything except it doesn't power up either.
I got another one later on but was more careful when installing it.
I used a lot of protection...tape, etc/etc.
There really should be a cover over the back of those darn things
but IGT wants us to blow them up so we can buy more of them...  arrow

I bought it a good while back, I am pretty sure from someone here at NLG, I think it was you who gave me the info on how to power it up,
but no..I have never seen this one light up. It takes a round power plug 6-16v dc.  I tried the several I have and I know they have power, I tested them on my meter.
Unless it has to have other connections as well when it powers up.  Mine came with no harness, instructions etc, so I don't know How I would plug it to the netplex board.   Scratch Head

naw that's okay...it's just a bunch of grey LEDs...nothing special.
It fit into a little wooden holder that you could glue to the back of award glasses.
The piggyback board though...is a cool unit!
I think you had to have a Supercontroller (CON2) to get it going?
Not many guys have those units.
They've come down in price as I've seen them lately for about $50 but it's still an expensive proposition.
If you want to stick a progressive in the face plate on an S2000 -
the Netplexed versions are the ones to get.

Anyways, they've really downsized the old humongous Mikohns to small little PGIC progressive units like these.
I know I have one somewhere and I hooked it up.
I did a short thread on it in the progressives section of NLG.
It would be dated at least 2 years ago I believe and there oughta to be all the info you'd need on that.
I don't remember off-hand how I got it going but I don't I used it because
it required the huge Mikhohn SuperController and it's just too bulky for me.

ADD>>> I found the archive of the thread...
I lost the video clip of it though when my computer HD died over the summer...
I don't know why I had removed it from youtune?...>>>

I'll try doing a search for my documentation on that puppy.
When I seen them - I knew I had to get one to try out!  yummy
I think I had got it from KirkvivaLasVegas back then.

I seem to remember that the reason I bought the Cham3 was because I was told it was self contained, and didnt need the Con2 controller... Silly Me!

I wonder if there is a way to hook it up directly to an S2000 though?
I lost my video clip and I'll bet I would have shown the wires and what was hooked up to it.
I'm thinking that it may be possible to construct a harness that would work with the TX,RX,TX-,RX- signals on the Netplex?

Anyways, here's a ChamIII document that I found on the internet somewhere
that might help someone hook one up someday.
I hope some a%&hole  loser doesn't download it and try to sell it on ebay...>>>

I finally found my CHAMIII in a box.
Luckily I also stored the power adapter next to it.
12VDC/1.5A

I blew some dust off and plugged it in.
Didn't miss a beat and I haven't turned it on in 2 years!...>>>

I hooked up the LED's off the Cham3 to the Cham 11 and they worked, so  I guess the logic board of the Cham3 is toast...
If I can re size the font on the smaller display ( the bottom of the numbers were cut off) then I should be able to find a way to get the smaller display into the
tracking area...now, wheres my grinder??  Scratch Head

Found a power supply to light up the Cham3, The logic board is screwed though as this is the only thing it does when powered up.
