Trying to get machine up and running for a friend of mine. When I power it up, all I get is the fan running, general illumination and at the win meter it reads "50 .0.00" never worked on one of these before so looking for any help available. It is a 3 coin mickle machine from 1986 and the belly glass has Trump Taj Mahal on it

Thanks,

David

Code 50 is the door has been open.
What happens when you coin up the game?
Here is the code list.
Post some pictures if you can.

Unfortunately I can't post any pics at this time. As far as coins, they drop to the return at the bottom right of the machine. Where is the switch that shows when the door is shut? Sorry if this is a simple question as to where it is located but I am used to igt s+ and s2000 and Bally 6000 machines only.

Thanks

The door switch is in the lower hinge.
There is also a key switch but that is most often bypassed.
Run this switch test.

One of the first thing I check are all plugs to all circuit boards. The condition of the ribbon cables from the MPU to I/O. An other thing I've found with the older Bally's is that the fuse holders crack and fail. Have you tried the reset button on the hopper to see it it works? All the machines tests are run using the button on the hopper control board. With the door open you should be able to push the test button and see the display change on the front door meter. Test 2 should cycle through all machine functions, light, solenoids, relays, etc... To stop the test just closing to door should stop the test if the door switch works, or just push the hoppers reset button. I hope this helps.

Re seated all of my connectors and powered back up and the solonoid on the right side where the pull handle engaged and closed the door and now it is showing a 1 in the display. There is a resistor coming from the coin switch but it is not connected to anything, could this be part of the problem? Also when I open the door I get a 7 in the display window and one other thing, there is a switch located on the door that has been taped together to make it closed, do I need to leave that as it is?
