I'm working on a Bally EVO with an error message " LOGIC DOOR OPEN" .  All of the switches are closed, wiring has been checked.  I'm sure its an MPU problem.  Any idea which bad MPU componet is causing the error message?

Just to understand further as I think there are 2 logic switches on an EVO

I take it you already checked the switches on the logic case and the CD flap?

I think both of them are on a micro switch that gets closed with the lock cam.

Thanks for your reply.  Found the problem this morning. There are 3 logic switches on EVO games.  One for the MPU, one for the Logic, and one for the CD Door.  I found out that the switches, for what ever reason, one has to be closed, while the other two remain open.  This takes away the " LOGIC DOOR OPEN " error code.  Drove me nuts for 3 days. The CD Door switch has to be closed, the Logic door switch remains open as does the MPU switch.  Why those switches remain open is still confusing.

Possibly because someone swapped the wires on the switches for convenience while they were working on the machine, and forgot to put them back?

Thats what I had thought, but it still doesn't make sense.  If the lock armature hits the switch, it has to go from a normally closed to a normally open state, totally opposite from what should happen.. I would think that when all the switches are closed, that would complete the circuit.  Then again, this is why EVO's never lasted on our casino floor, to much down time.           I have another question .  Does anyone do any monitor repair?  I'm looking for a part number for the 3M VHB tape we use to put around the monitor touch screens when they have to be replaced. The tape is dark grey in color, very flexible, with a very thin compressed foam front.  It has a sticky back, and works quite good holding up to abuse from players. I've tried dealing with 3M, but got nowhere.  If you hear of anyone using this type of tape, please let me know.

About the 3M tape: Sounds just like the 3M tape they sell at Home Depot! That'd be an easy fix for you.  It's gray thin foam tape made by 3M and it's the highest strength HD carries.
