I'm a newb and found an IGT Wild Cherry slot a couple hours away from me. The ad says the game is in great condition all the light work great color no cracks there is a error code that is number 21 so it doesnt work right now needs repair.  I understand that the code 21 error is a coin optics problem.

They are asking $350 for the machine.

My question: Does this sound like a good deal? Is there anything else I should look for if I go to see it? I hate to drive 2 hours each way for nothing.

Thanks!

depends on what you want in a machine.   it appears that the machine pictured could be 16" S or S+  with no bill acceptor.   S machine has the board located in the back of the machine, has three connectors going to it.   S+  has a card cage unit, board would be mounted on the left side of the machine behind an aluminium cover that has a black knob on it to help with removal.

S machine,  spare cpu boards are a little more challenging to find,  only certain games can be put in that type machine,  16" glass kits require an effort to find,  you will to use coins exclusively to operate the machine,  code 21 is not difficult to repair.

S+ machine,  boards are plentiful, any game for that platform can be put in the machine,  kits are still a little more difficult to find,  code 21 is not difficult to repair.

price is always a sticky area,  I think you have some wiggle room, just because you don't know what's causing the problem. more than likely removing the transistor on the optics will cure 99% of those type issues,  I believe you can still get into the machine tests and check out all the other functions of the machine,  check out posts  on how to get into the machine diagnostics,  usually opening the door and pressing the white test button will give you access to those tests.
your location usually has an effect on machine prices,  ultimately it comes down to your decision and how bad you want a machine.

hope this helps.

No, not to me, but it depends on your location.  Where are you located?  $350 is way too much for a S machine, and still is too much for a S+ with no bill validator (in my opinion).
