I was wondering if this is an IGT machine and if so which one. Also curious about the price.

It's a Bally, probably a 5500 series, $400 is iffy. The 5500's have a habit of eating batteries

I'm not a 100% sure, but I think the BV on a 5500 is a little higher.

My S5500 has the BV in the reel area.
Maybe that one is a S6000.

So maybe a 6000 series Buzz? Little closer on price if that's the case, except that it's not working. He doesn't mention what the error code was that made him want to change the battery in the first place either

Its a Bally 6000 series...Easy to work on and if lucky, it has the "Stay in" eprom that allows you to clear the ram without any extra chips...

Let me ask a question, you have a Bally ??????????  It has a door like a 6000 with the lower mounted BV, but when you open the door you see a reel shelf that looks like a 5500 and has a 5500 MPU. What would you call this machine ??  This is not a joke, I have a machine like that.
