Sigma DBV-145 questions

This Sigma has the older REV A1 board in it and has a DBV-145 SG bill head with the long Bally type transport.

(Ahem - in a metal box to the right of the reels and to be removed the reels have to be taken out and to get to the head 8 screws have to be removed, that's what I call confidence in your end product.)

We can put a Bally chip into the head and test it and the transport in a Bally slot and it works fine, transports the bill to the stacker with no problems.

Back into the Sigma and the unit gives me a Bill Validator error as soon as the door is closed when a IDO-44 SG V3.30 chip is put into the head.

With a IDO-11 SG V3.00 chip in the head I get no error message and the head accepts a older bill but the transport doesn't energize and the bill gets stuck.

What is the correct IDO number and version that will give me full functionality and accept the newer bills and drop the bill into the stacker?

somewhat confused about your post.  the Sigma has a IDO-011, you cannot use a Bally IDO in a Sigma, It will fault everytime.

as for the bill acceptor assembly. the assembly is actually four parts, all of which will come out without removing the reels. the main frame, has the head attached via a locking spring loaded pin.  the stacker rests on four elongated slots, the power for that unit is supplied by a plug that goes into the right side of the head. the cover plate rests on top of the stacker assembly,most times it is removed and never put back.  the head is removed by simply removing the plugs and pulling the locking pin out of the way. the cover just locks in place using the metal slots (tabs). the stacker is removed by sliding the screw posts out of the elongated slots(toward the rear) the housing is removed by loosening the four screws underneath the reel shelf and those holes are elongated as well. I believe two nuts around the switch assembly and one screw inside the stacker housing. the reels do have to come out for this. this will allow you to bypass two switches, the cash can switch on the bottom and the door lock switch. this way you can operate the machine without having to put the stacker in the housing. I do not know the latest version of the for the new money. I'll check it out tonight. you can interchange the stacker assembly between the two units and determine if the stacker in the Sigma is in fact bad. sometimes from not being used the stacker motor  gets frozen, use the white gear on top of the stacker to move it up and down a few times and see if that will get the stacker to work. you can upgrade to a  sg200 head .

The head and transport worked fine in a Bally slot with a Bally chip in the DBV-145 SG head.

So the transport has already been proven god andworking.

I am thinking a IDO-11 chip doesn't know it is suppose to activate the transport.

well if the head and transport are good, and the only difference is the chip, then one would assume the chip is bad.  does the transport go through the normal power on procedure?  it should cycle the transport on power up. the head should cycle as well.

regardless, you will have to find a chip with the IDO-011 protocol and a higher version software to accept the newer money.

the IDO is manufacture specific: e.g.  IDO022/023 is for S+, IDO-024 =S-2000, IDO-044 =Bally and Williams, IDO-011=Sigma.

I agree, I put a 200 head in with the latest software and the unit worked.

Version 3-40,01 was the last version for ID-011, Unfortunately DBV-145 was discontinued long ago so the software will not accept a lot of the newer bills. the data sheet for that version says it accepts the following:
Accepts $1,$5('03 & older)$10('03 & older),$20('04 & older),$50('88~'04)and $100('88~'01)bills.Includes "Next Generation" $50 recognition.(2004 series).Currency is accepted in 1 direction; face up, black seal first only.

Where can I get the chip for the 3.40 chip. I have another Sigma and 3.20 doesn't accept many new bills, it works fine on old dollars.

I asked where I could get a chip first, no response. With the DBV145 being so old I wanted to see if anyone had saved a bin I could borrow. Thought I was corresponding with a tech dude from JCM. Is this person not a tech dude from JCM?
