I was shopping out one of my S2000 machines today and I noticed the volume seemed loud. I went into the game volume in options and tried to turn down the level, but it stayed the same till it turned off. When turned back up it's still loud. I think it's a 502 MPU, I didn't check. It has a MMII board running a 0042 SIMM. I'm using 363 game chips and the game is Triple Zesty Hot Peppers 3 cn. The other thing I noticed with this machine is that it has the loud hum in the speakers I've read about. Do my issues come from the MPU? I also noticed that the speaker hum would come and go as I was running the reel light test, as they lite up the hum would almost stop, but as they turned off the hum would get louder again??

Thanks and Happy Easter,  Gary

I've been in both volume menus, but that makes no difference.. I will try it with out the MMII board and sound simm first. If that makes no difference I'll have to take another amp board from another machine. I'll post results later on today...

This is an S2000 from 2003 three reel machine. Nothing fancy except I have the MMII and 0042 sound SIMM on it. By chance it is the Amp Board, what's one cost?

Ok this is what I did and found... i removed the MMII board and sound Simm.. After power up the machine I could change the game and money volumes. I tried a different MMII board and a different 0042 Simm, after powering the machine back up, I couldn't adjust the volumes again  Scratch Head Scratch Head.. The one thing I did notice was that without the MMII board the speaker hum was almost gone, but when trying the second MMII board it came back? I swapped out an Amp board from a different machine but that didn't allow me to adjust the volume again use the MMII board and 0042 Simm, everything is loud? I see 4 dip switch's on the 0042 sound Simm, they are all in the same direction, both of mine are the same. Do I need to set them?
