I currently have an IGT-2000 machine made in 1995 with an MEI Bill Validator Model # ZT1202 installed.  I found out on the MEI website that there will never be an upgrade to this model to accept NEW $5 & $10 US Bills.  Can anyone offer the most practical way to upgrade to a BV that will accept all US Bills to include NEW $5, 10 & 20?  I just don't enough about DBVs to know what is interchangeable and what a good replacement BV looks like.  I would like to know brand, model #, and a good price to expect to pay.

What is the issue that you are trying to get fixed? And what MEI unit do you have? pull it out and turn it over and there will be a small square chip hopfully with a sticker on it stating the software version installed. The more info you supply the more help we can offer.

Bally 6000 Double Jackpot ........  I turned the BV over and that square chip says   12AUS  261fls 29002 0261
model ZT 1204   67mmf     I have no idea what that stands for but I must say this machine came from Canada and had been set to not take coins only bills .      My problem was only that it would not take any bills at first but now with all my screwing around I've got an 88f  error code so I guess I better resolve that 1st.     will be looking for those reset chips now.

OK, 12AUS400 is the newest chip you need...I can help you there, but the 88f is most likley a low battery on the main board. If you have a volt meter check the battery voltage and report back. I suspect it will be very low...I have them as well.

Well looks like I better get serious with this now...... I've got a new battery and a manual  and haven't really dealt with this for about a month.   I thought 88f was fatal error .    But I do appreciate the help .... and I am ready to figure this out.     Let me know what I need to do  to get 12AUS400  and I will report back after I deal with battery ect ... ...... Thanks much!
