Which chip blanks are needed for an S2000 for all chips?

I am just starting to look into getting some chips for my s2000 machine to use as a way to back up the chips.  I recently had a pin break off on one of my chips and don't want to be without my machine while waiting for replacement chips again.  Can I find out from anyone who knows what all the eprom chip numbers are on the MPU for this machine so I can make sure the writer I am looking at is able to use them and also look to see where I can get the chips at a decent price?

Do these all need a uv eraser to use?  I am looking for ones that can be electronically erased and rewritten if possible so I only need one device to use.

the OTP (One-Time Programmable) chips are the cheapest ones you can get.
But...you cannot erase them.

The electronically erasable chips are the most expensive chips you can buy if you're rich.

The eproms with UV windows is the best way to go.
You know why? Because ...
You're wasting big time money on electronically erasable chips
and if you make one mistake with the OTP chips...they're trash.

Check the prices of the chips and you will see exactly what I mean.

good point.  Do you know of anywhere to get a really cheap uv eraser?

any idea how many ns I should look for?  I am finding some in ranges from 80-100ns

Finding  a EEPROM/flash version of the 27C4002 or 27C4096 (Base Chip) is not going to be easy
I found some that could work, but the adapter to make the TSOP48 to 40 DIP adapter is like $30+ and not sure if it would be usable in the machine.
I didn't look for a EEPROM/Flash version of the 27C801 or 27C080 (Game chips) or the 27C1001 or 27C010 (Version Chip) not really needed, more often you change game or version chip to different versions could require a bit more use of key or clear chips

Speed has to be 120ns or faster, so 100ns would be fine. down to 70ns will work (I used the SST27SF512-70 as a substitute chip when I needed to put a S+ SS (Reel) chip in my S2000 because many of my S+ SS chips are 150ns and they fail the tests performed by the S2000 during the memory/system tests.

If I am reading this post right Foster I can use either of the 2 chip numbers for each one?  Are they like different manufacturers, or is it just different models have the same pinouts?

You're reading Foster's post right.
He posted alternative chips for you in case you can't get M27C4002's for the SB's
or M27C801's for the SG's.

Chip manufacturers put their own labels in front of these numbers like SSTM27C4002 or AMM27C4002.
Same chip - different company is all.
The important letters/numbers are the "M27" and "C4002" - that's the SIZE of the chips.

The "-100" or "-70" are the nano second (ns) chip access speeds in billionths of a second.
I find the "-100" speed chips plentiful and can be used in the S2000's nicely.

Thanks for the great post with the website link.  Good information that helps me understand this a little better.  Now to just do some research on the cheapest programmer and eraser I can find that is compatible and will make a reliable chip.
