I have a CDS Video Poker machine UV-1510 that has come up with a System Error and I cannot find any information on it. After I gp through initialzing it does not fix the problem.  The game chips  are DPV 4.05 J05-B and the other chips are Version 1.00. I replaced the Battery. Some one said that I now needed chips to clear the memory. I have not worked on slot machines but have worked on pinball machines so I do have some knowledge of chips and motherboards. I'm hoping someone will be able to help me. I have the users manual but not the repair manual.

Thank You
Dave

CRC means Cyclic Redundancy Check.
The error would mean that the chip's CRC data is incorrect for the game machine.
Is it an original OEM CDS poker chip or a bad copy of one?
If it looks like someone just stuck a label on an eprom - I'd question it...
Pull the chip out and see if there's any bent/folded-under pin legs.

Thank you for your response, alll of the chips have labels placed on top, they do look like copies. I have had the machine for a couple months and know the party that had it for several years before me. The game alwasy worked well. What are my options know?

Thank You
Dave

Your best options are to scour through all the CDS threads on the forum.
You might find something that'll help you until someone with a CDS video machine sees this thread
and tries to offer some advice and help.

PM me your email address.  I have a couple of documents I can send you that may help.  You don't need a clear chip for the UV-1510.

Tilt    L@@k at reply #2   I sent him the user manual that I think he already has.  The only CDS video poker I ever had, I gave it to Unniman  I think he took it straight to the local dump !! And that ain't no BS !! I think it was called Reel Deal.   Reel Deal is the way they spell JUNK in Vegas !!!

Doh! Thanks Buzz.  I missed the email in the post  Duh! Duh!  I looked in his profile and it was private.  Anyhow, I have a small guide I wrote many moons ago for a CDS UV-1510 Station Casino Million coin video poker machine that I can send his way. It may help with the initialization process?   I have a UV-1910 manual, which has almost the same menu structure as the UV-1510, but I've never seen anything specific to the 1510.  Luckily mine has been pretty reliable, I think I've put 2 - 4 batteries in it over the last decade and 1/2.  I gave it to my father-in-law many years back when he was shut in due to health problems. He enjoyed playing it, and has since passed away.   It's still there, and now the grandkids play with it from time to time.

Anyhow, back to the OP it sounds like your machine needs to be initialized.  If you've done that correctly and still get the same error, it may be a bad EEPROM.  I just don't remember where it's at, or if it's in a socket or not.  I don't have schematics for it.  Most likely it will be a 8 pin 24CXX EEPROM like many gaming machines use and probably on the backplane.  Email to follow.

Thanks for the K+ Bunker  wave

Tilt, I would love to have a copy of your guide and the manual for the 1910 and any schmatics you might have.

Thanks

I unpluged the machine and took out the battery and let it sit for about 20 minutes, it still won't initialize but the error message was different. It was a EEPROM READ ERROR. I have ordered a new EEPROM but have not received it. It is on the backplane.  Any new Ideas out there. Still looking for a Hardware Manual, 1910 would be fine.

Thanks
Dave

Had the machine repaired at Lake Havasu Slots, Program was corrupt, cleaned, reprogrammed, installed better battery, works great.
Repairs are reasonably priced and the owner was a pleasure to work with.
