The S+ Barcrest MPU4 Power supply actually only produces -12VDC, +12VDC and +34VDC coming out of the power supply unit itself. Other needed voltages to run the Top Box are + 5VDC and + 48VDC but those are produced by the MPU4 circuit using the power suppliy voltages. The power supply has 2 connector plugs located on the side of the unit. The plugs are:
CN3, (a 9 pin connector plug with 6 wires coming from the MPU4)
and:
CN4, (a 12 pin connector that also has 6 wires coming from MPU4).
The voltages coming out of the supply are as follows:
CN3 Pins 1&2 not used
Pin 3 = -12VDC
pin 4 = -12VDC (return line)
Pin 5 = Not used
Pins 6/7 = 0 volts (Same as Ground) going back to the Voltage regulator on mpu4.
Pins 8/9 = +34VDC

Bottom Connector (CN4)
Pins 1/2/3 = +12VDC
Pins 4 thru 9 are not used
Pins 10/11/12 = 0 volts (Same as ground) going back to voltage regulator on mpu4

Hope this is helpful to someone who needs it!

Rod,

i think the 36 volts is to run the lights on the bonus round

if anyone has pics of the barcrest inside top box, power supply  and also the inside door by coin mech, i need pics of the coin mech harness

Heres an update on the MPU4: In case anyone is in a bind and in need of an MPU 4 model barcrest power supply and cant find a working unit it should be known that you can use a newer and more readily available MPU 5 power supply on the MPU4 MPU and it works perfectly. Just refer to the wire schematic photo shown below showing the MPU4. The Mpu 5 units already have the output voltages listed on the sticker on the side of the unit which makes it a no brainer to simply repin the MPU 5 side molex connector. The mpu 5 outputs 37VDC on pins 15 and 16 which is 3 VDC more than the MPU4 supply puts out (34VDC) - no worries the extra 3 volts wont damage the MPU because it has a voltage regulator circuit in place which limits the current to the 34volts needed. Anyways, I did this swap on a Top Dollar machine and we ran it everyday, all day and night for 2 weeks straight and it worked perfectly without a hitch.  Heres a few pics. If anyone needs help with this just let me know.

Just to let you know there are S+ Barcrest machines with MPU5's in them, the Little Devil has an MPU5, and its power supply does have a +5v output.
MPU4's are used primarily for the lighted top box options and the MPU5 is used to control other devices such as the reels in the top box as well as other mechanical devices

Thanks

Thanks railroad94

As you can see, since IGT bought out Barcrest and created Barcrest USA,
the newer S2000 Barcrest machines have very little in common with the older S+ units.

Its not about the product its the brand.....

They buy up the company, own the patents then bury the product replacing it with their own flavor....

We call this Microsoft 101. What do you think happened to Paradox, and Foxpro..... now Access.
