My Boss has a vision machine that boots up normal, game plays fine, when it warms up the LCD screen starts to go lighter and lighter and eventually goes black....I have read posts on this and it sounds like it needs to be gone over to see if something needs resoldered,he has changed the battery so I know that is not an issue,In the mean time I was going to order another one..the other question is the button deck and belly glass has no lights everything else seems to work...what would cause the lights to go out?
Thanks
Eric

1)  LCD monitor going black after warmup is likely capacitor problems in the monitor
2)  Button deck livhts not working, if it's all of them, could be bad bulbs or an IO card issue
3)  Belly glass light could be a bulb or the transformer if the reel and top box lights still work
as all three run frpm the same source

Hope this helps

A cold-solder joint can do this...

I am not certain which IC component on the MPU board up in the topbox LCD unit would do this.
A capacitor on the LCD board?

That's awesome Cowboy!

HeyEric!
Pick up an LCD computer and swap the old one outta there!
It's had it like an old tv !
Beside, the LCD computers aren't a major expense...I've seen a few for sale at decent prices.  yes

Reel and top lights still work ...not to long ago I changed out the door IO,if one bulb is burnt it wouldnt cause the rest to go out correct? all the button lights are out but the buttons itself work ,the source where these lights run from...if it was bad the buttons wouldnt function at all correct ?
Thanks for the speedy replies

Deck buttons have two separate lines.
One is for the logic signals which derive their power from the MPU.
The other is for the lamps - different voltage altogether
and comes from the power supply panel.
Check your power supply out with a m u l t i - m e t e r.
Could be just a bad grounded wire somewhere?

I will order the lcd ...Rudy,s has a few ...not bad on the pricing either , it probably wouldnt hurt to order a Door IO at the same time?
What about the transformer for the belly light...i havent looked around yet but do you have to order one or could I pick one up around town ?
Thanks  Mark....Cowboy Congrats on your new toy   applause

I will check the power supply also
