I been shipping with same trucking  co for 3 years  always used class 100  for machines  today i get a bill saying i owe them 45 bucks due to my class was 125 not 100  i don,t charge buyers anything but what i,m quoted which i pay in full when i drop off games a trucking dock, so now i,m going to lose 45 bucks? , i wanted to know what class other use for shipping slots

I was in Transportation for 25 years, the NMFC classification number for slot machines is 16340 sub 2 this is class 110.

when i started shipping woith southeastern  frt  they told me it was class 100 , i,ll call them on monday but what makes me mad it took almost a month for them to say anything

The reason it took a month for you to be notified is their weight and inspection team picked out your shipment and reclassified your shipment. They can do this by law. By the way as a heads up. Since they reclassified your shipment they will be also weighting your future shipment to recharge you. Remember when shipping to add the weight of the pallet. The average weight for a 48x48 pallets is about 45-60 pounds depending on the thickness of wood of the pallet.I would not push the issue with this carrier, for they can if they wish audit your past shipments up to a year and rebill you under the NMFC  rules of miss classifying freight. I would let this go and use the proper NMFC number. Working in the industry this is what freight companies due. They try to catch shippers putting down wrong weight and wrong classifications of freight.

we always add on for pallets  plus we always round up wts   the forklift has a scale on it they told me that  i was paying for 30 extra lbs per pallet that wasn,t on them so if anything  i over paid them most the time

Just checked some of our past BOLs and all of the ones checked were class 110. BUT, I do remember being charged more than the original quote, after the fact, on one of our very first shipments in which we had put the wrong class on.  Pricey lesson learned....

Density needs to be at least 4 inch pounds per cubic foot. On a 48x40x60 the total weight including the pallet needs to be at least 270 pounds. So never use less than 270 pounds on a 48x40x60. 60" is for height of the freight.

Shipping several pallets the linear feet is also important. If you exceed 12 linear most carriers charge an additional fee.

I also agree that it is best just to bite the bullet and eat the $45.
