Happiness in life is a great dog

« on: June 13, 2012, 03:19:43 PM »

Hi All, My boss has a double diamond run that he turns on about once a month. I replaced the cmos battery for him about 3 months ago for low battery indication and he called today to say he's getting a machine type mismatch error. I had him go into keychip menu to see what it's set for and it's set for upright, but he's still getting the error. Any ideas?

And before anyone asks, it's a 502 with a green battery that was new about 1 year ago. Only setting it's not recognizing is the machine type

I'd be scared to ask him to Clear chip the machine
and set it all up again.
Might be another 80+ post thread...  rotflmao

This is a 1st time S2000 problem for me to see so I'll be watching this thread closely from here on out.

The only thing that I can think of is maybe it's a "stacked" error?  Scratch Head 3

Yeah, I wondered the same so I had him open and close the door several times. I've got him swapping U18 and U45 on the MPU right now and I'm waiting to hear back on that. I've told him before to turn that machine on for a day at least once a week. He only got it so his mom could play it when she comes to visit and that's not often enough I guess.

I wonder if a component is not fully connected or plugged in properly.
I would re-seat mpu, and I/O cards and go from there.
