BALLY 6000 ERROR 41 & 71

I have a Bally 6000. Did not play for about a month. Battery was dead. Replaced battery.
Play about 20 spins & 41 code comes up. Reset same thing. If I have it on & don't play code 71 comes up.
I swapped out reels, MPU, chips, other game chips & reel harness. Next I'll swap out back board.
Any suggestions?

Try the back plane after you switch out the mains and personalites with backups or known good ones, heard it got very hot up your way and chips do not like excessive heat. That is when they fail and you state they work but fail after a while...Might be a heat failure issue. Also if you have another machine (which I know you do) swap the power supply. I had one in my garage last week and the garage hit 90 degrees. The machine was running great , then started giving me 40,41,42,43 errors while sitting still. It over heated. manual states max enviroment temp of 90 degrees. These boards have no fans or heat sinks and can over heat easily. Might not be your problem but worth a look.  PS how is the new A/C working???

Thanks Coors. I did switch chips & all that. Never thought of power supply, will try that when I get back @ it.
Have to run to lumber yard & get more lumber for project. need more stands.
NEW AC WORKS GREAT. The old one was 18 yrs. old & used hard. On Thursday got to 97 in here without AC.

Today I got a little spare time. Changed power supply & back board & same thing.
I swapped about everything

I would try a new and known good tested set of mains that work in another machine, chips can do weird things . You have replaced everything else. A bad batch of chips from a supplier can send you down the wrong road for a while. I have had checksums match on backups only to fail in a machine. Not saying you have backups or OEM, but just a thought..

I did a lot of complete clears & reels was one of the things I changed.

I tried other boards with other chips & different games - same thing.  I tried swapping all except COMPLETE wiring harness.

I have had the plug on reel no 1 fail befor and found out that it was from all the action when opening and closeing the door broke a wire off inspect that area make sure you are getting contact with all wires in plug

Thanks Paul. I had swapped harness with a working machine last week and no difference.
