Silly Me!   Hello I'm new to this forum.

Question i have a jackpot stampede deluxe unit,  while plugged into a outlet, i try  plugging in a other unit to the same outlet and noticed that the stampede lights were blinking while plugging in a diff unit.  I'm guessing that the power to 1st slot was being interupped.  anyways after this took place my dotmatix on the stampede stop working. so I'm trying to see if the displayed went bad or the power supply .   before i get into change my supply unit  is there a way i can check to see if it indeed went bad or if i lost my dot matrix unit..   thanks any help would be appreciated.

I know next to nothing about a Dotmation but I know for sure inside the lower power supple there are 2 or 3 fuses. Been there and done that !! It's been a long time ago but I think once you get inside the PS you have to remove one board to get to some of the fuses.

When you initially turn on the machine; does anything appear in the dotmation display ?  If so ; then I'd say lower power supply.... If not then I'd guess upper supply...  Bill

Right.  Dot Fail means that the MPU isn't talking to the top box board.  That's either because of a problem in the wiring, or (more likely) that the top box isn't getting power, usually because of a fried upper power supply.

As Bill asked, when you turn the machine on, does anything appear on the Dot Matrix display?  If not, you need to replace your upper power supply.

Morning: This is what frist shows up on the display when turning on the power ...   I get 1 bong and the reels home out.   then after 30 or so sec's ,  i get the final reading of dot fail display reading.   Top dot Matrix is blank all the time. shows no signs of life during any or all of the process.

Your upper power supply is dead.  There are a couple of sticky topics at the top of the WMS Reel category with power supply solutions.
