Looking for advice on an early PE Draw Poker machine

I'm looking for a little help full advice on an early 1990's PE Draw Poker machine. This one doesn't have a bill validator. Can anyone give me a ball park figure what they are worth? I've found one for sale but the sellers asking $500 and it has video problems, but I think it needs new caps or worse a CRT. Is it hard to covert one to a flat panel? This is one of those seller that's says I paid $1200 for it a few years ago, so it  has to be worth half that broken. I was figuring in working condition $300-$500 am I close?

Value is, of course, relative to your local market. In the Phoenix area they commonly go for $500+/- in good working condition. I would look for others for sale in your area to make a final determination. As far as a flat panel conversion goes, from what I've read here on the forum recently, it can be done now on a PE+, but I'm not sure about cost. Do a search or look through the topic on those. There was a very long one just recently dealing with those conversions and it looked like progress had been made

Thanks for the input.. I'm up in the Detroit area and don't see these list too often. I'd jump on it if they will come down to $300, but as of now the sellers firm at $500. I'll check back with them in a month or so. I've found they get cheaper if there sit for a while. The seller become less attached.

If you have a picture of it we might be able to tell you what model of machine it is.  If it's a PE, I know I sure wouldn't spend $300 on it, even if the monitor was working.  If it's a PE+, and that's a good price for your market, it might be worth it.

I agree with Knagl.  I would look for a PE+ or newer before giving up 3 bills.  Good luck!  :-)

I have some bar top PE+ machines that are non working that I'd gladly sell for $500 a piece   

I see PE+ machines with bill validators in central ohio on occasion that are shopped out for $500 or less.

 cowboygames   Make me a offer and I'll toss in 3 or 4 PE + slant tops. If you twist my arm I think I can find 2 or 3 Bally V5500 slant tops to seal the deal.

Nice radio Buzz Looks like one my mom got from my grandma in the early 70's. She sold it about 5 years later when she started collecting old phonographs. Got about $400 for it back then, but it was pretty minty

Its a very (very) old PE+. The cabinet looks like a PE but the MPU board is a PE+
It doesn't have a bill validator so it was right at the time when they moved from a PE to PE+
If a bill validator is a desired feature you can get a bolt on for outside of the cabinet (sidecar). I don't like the look of them.
The other item to note is that this validator platform does not support any of the new colored money.
If your just after a Coin OP then this is hard to beat for $100.00
The only other item of concern might be the monitor burn in.

Jay, that is what I thought too...But not a PE+ expert by any means...I thought if it was a PE+ and not a PE it was worth a $100 investment. Not looking to upgrade it, just clean it up, play with it for a while and then turn it over for a few hundred to someone wanting a simple draw poker machine. Worth a hundred just to play and learn and gain some more knowledge about PE's. Love to bring some of the old stuff back to life for someone who can't afford or are not looking for new fangled stuff  Going to get it tommorrow, what the hell!!  Waisted $100 on a whole lot less...and it is close to go pick-up.

DO WHAT? in what Country?

In U.S. it sure will, to the new NG$5 with a WBA 12, NG$10 with DBV-200 or WBA 10/11, NG$50 with DBV-145, No difference than a S+, using a Side Mount BV a WBA is easily added. In Wisconsin there were hundreds done in the early 2000's to WBA, This info has been on new currency acceptance has been mentioned several times, must need a better search engine here

I'm late to the party, but I agree that it's a PE+.  You could put a Superboard in there and be able to use the multigame sets, allowing five player-selectable poker games.  See the Poker tab in the IGT game bible for game listings.

Right board, wrong chips on it. The superboard has an extra data chip socket which supports "fancier" PE+ games by giving the machine another chip to grab data from. The multi-game sets (and some poker and slot game sets) take advantage of that capability.

went to look at it tonight and brought it home, to nice looking a machine to let it go to waste. The MPU has some slight battery acid damage but it was contained to the MPU. Motherboard is OK. I ordered a superboard for $40 and got the complete machine for $75.  Feel like a crook  Naw!!
Overall shape of the chrome, glass and cabinet are 100% perfect. The machine is complete and looks OEM. Very minor burn in on the monitor. Will have it up and running in no time. Just amazes me how they used the same cabinet for sircoma, Fortune I, Fortune II, PE and PE+....got their moneys worth out of that design, when you open the door....all different though!!

By looking at it you would never guess it was a 23 year old casino machine, It looks almost new out of the box. No external signs of wear at all! even on the plastic buttons. I think this one is going to be a keeper for the private collection of neat stuff and early one of a kinds. Deff in collectible condition for the collector...
