Hi!, been a while!. I never did get my old electro-mechanical machine to work, still sitting in storage right now.

But I DID buy a very nice, fully functional Bally s5500! Even had the battery replaced already for me.

I just need to figure out now, how all these options work, what this "Clear chip" thing is, why I need to know about it, and any other quirks. Then I would be ready to waste endless nights tinkering and playing with the thing.

So, the game came with this "Options"card stuck inside it, on the front it has S5500 Options, with what defaults are, on the back is this list where you can write when you changed something, and a bunch of dipswitch information.

My first question is, how do you go about changing all these options on the front, and is it safe to do so? (Wont mess up the chips or programing right?)

My second question is whats the deal with the dipswitches, where are they at, and is it safe/what is the process for messing with them?

Thank you all for your great help by the way, really nice community. propeller

Also, if I get a lock up because I win a big payout, how do you reset the machine so it thinks its been paid out?

to clear a jackpot turn the jackpot reset key.  The switch is on the right outside of cabinet near handle.  Turn to right and release this will clear jackpot and return slot to play.
