has anyone here made their own slot stands?     we want to make 3 large ones to hold 4 games  each  has anyone made any like that ? if you did can you tell us how?

I wanted something that was open so the room didn't look closed in, you could put your feet under it, and easy to clean under.  A caveat I have a MiG welder and am a back yard kind of welder so no great skill required.  As you can see from the pictures they are simple metal tables with wooden tops.  Note: I haven't cleaned up the cords yet but no big deal.  Also notice the differences in the tables one has cup casters and the other one doesn't - cup casters look bad so the newer ones have felt feet that slide over floor great

Materials:
 Top is lamented wood from Home Depot that is routed and polyurethaned.
 12 to 16  - 5/8 or 3/4 inch #10 or #12 screws as you desire to connect top to frame.
 Table frame is  1 1/2 inch or so angle iron.  Buy from the metal shorts at home depot or get an old bed frame and cut it up.  That's what I use
    and get it from   freecycle or find them   tossed away.
  1 3/4 inch steel electrical conduit - not pipe.
 four 1 3/4  fender washers.
 four 1 3/4 inch stick on felt pads.
 Paint for the metal frame and legs.
 Bolts to bolt machine to table.

Cut the wood to the size you want - remember to leave space for drinks etc.
Put machine on wood and mark holes for coin box drop and 2 or 3 through bolts to bolt machine too table.
Cut coin box hold, route edge and coin box hold, and drill bolt holes.  Sand and polyurethane.
Cut angle iron to the size you want, and drill 3 or 4 #10 or #12 holes in each piece through the side that will fit against the wood.
Cut a piece for the center of the machine and when you weld it in make sure you don't cover the machine bolt holes.
Don't get fancy, weld the pieces together with overlap butt joints. 
Cut the legs to length you want accuracy a plus and you will be able to fudge small differences.
Grind a 2 or three small cuts  in each  leg end and use that to help weld the fender washer to close the leg off. Grind round and smooth. 
Take longest leg and weld in place -
Get three clamps and set the other legs in place.  Level the table and tack in the legs.  Once you're satisfied weld in place.
Paint and assemble table.

Install some type of coin box .

those look really nice but we are hope to make something all wood, over the years  I have turned down many free stands from casino loads , now that i have my game room i can,t find any

these are nice that i have steve..... i paid about 160 for each but you probably can build them yourself..... they also have nice storge room in them......

I made one for three machines that will hold my wifes CR-V. I used a 2x4 frame with cross-supports every 2 ft And 4x4's for the legs(8), all bolted together with counter-sunk 1/4x3" lag bolts and topped off with a piece of counter top from the local cabinet shop. Used a piece of 3 1/2" molding across the front to cover the exposed wood and bolts. Looks nice, has that open effect and will hold a small car. Hard to beat

love those all our idea is to do the wood thing , my wife works well with tools and  don,t charge much per hpur , i found so in sc  but  by the time we drive there it would be cheaper tp build our own ,I like brick work also

If you try my idea or a variation thereof, I use a 7/8th washer and countersink with a like size bit.

Here's another one.
Two by four frame, 3/8" plywood sides with cherrywood floor laminate and laminate countertops. Little door has Uni Ultra slant top side glass. Inside is light bar and power strip for  machines.

That laminate is off the shelf from Home Depot. And it does look like granite.

wow  why would anyone buy a stand  ? these are all nice looking and at end of day you can say you made it, looks like a trip to lowes /home depot coming up, plus i have about 100 bolts already that came in a load of slots

I just ripped 2x4 down to 2x2 and built a frame and use my leftover hard wood flooring. Piece of cake.......but took all day.
