Weller EC-2002 or EC-4001 Digital Soldering Stations - Repairable?

I don’t see where anyone has posted much about this previously but who knows, maybe someone has some knowledge.

Anyone had any luck repairing either of these soldering stations?  I have 3 of them & 2 don’t work.  Something inside I believe.

The digital display jumps all over the place, not stable all all.  Cycle the power button and sometimes the display just reads zeros.  Swapping the hand piece with my good one has no effect.

Could be a bad thermostat or just a bad connection inside the unit. I'd pop it open and check for cracked traces and/or solder joints and check all pluggable connections inside. I don't remember ever seeing replacement parts for inside weller units. Generally just throw them out and buy a new one when they go bad, but I was doing 1000's of solder joints a year so I was just wearing them out

Just throw it away?     Those are great soldering stations (when working).  No, I'm just too stubborn or too cheap to throw it out I guess.  Finding data on my slots was a lot easier than finding info on these Weller irons.  Someones gotta have data on the insides.  It looks like the circuit boards are made of ceramic. This photo is the control board from my EC-2002.  Didn't see any bad plug connections or cold solder joints. Looks pretty ugly.
