IGT SAS Channel 3

I've been gearing up to implement TZ's board so I wanted to get back into the SAS scene with my pc hooked up to my I-Game



Here's  the thing - I wasted two nights with wiring and testing with 4 PC's in order to get it to work .   

Well after trying a

macbook air
acer laptop
macbook pro
hp desktop  (native serial)


I finally got hte machines to talk after setting SAS to channel 3 - IT WORKED!!!!!

soooooooooo for all who are thinking about tinkering  --   change the SAS channel - not machine ID but the channel other than 1 or 2 for pc hookup


I don't know why     maybe someone here who works with these things can explain why?

Channel 3 is the Serial port on the Comm board
Channel 2 is the DCS port on motherboard and the EZ Pay fiber ports on the Comm board
Channel 1 is the WAP fiber port

I don't know why     maybe someone here who works with these things can explain why? 

It seems to me as much as i have a interest in all of this high tech STUFF  trying to get things to work  . I would be easier to just ask FOSTER first  Good  work guys . Way above my head
