s2000 enhanced board battery replacement

I need some information on how to replace the NiMH battery on my newly purchased s2000 enhanced boards.  They are clearly dead.  When testing them on the board I am getting a reading of 3 millivolts on one of the boards, and 0.7 millivolts on the other.  I can't figure out how to remove them to replace the battery.  Do I have to desolder them from the board, or is there a way to remove them and replace them that I can't figure out?

Nope there isn't any secret, they are soldered.

On the enhanced boards there are 2 batteries to look at. They main should be sitting in a coin cell holder located more towards the front middle of the board.  Just pop it out with a flat head screw driver and replace it if you need to.  See the picture below with the red arrow pointing to it.  Note this is an enhanced board with a R-board daughter card just so you can see what the other version looks like from what you have (just a follow up from your other post).

Now look at the blue arrow pointing to the green battery at the middle right side of the board...the NIMH battery you are asking about....this is part of the tattle tale security feature of the board.  If this battery is dead you do not necessarily have to replace it unless it has oxidation on it indicating leakage.  If it looks clean you can try to recharge it by just running it in the machine for about 4 to 6 hours.  NOTE however, when you run the board when it is not charged you will likely get this very loud alarm and on the display it will say "System Error" or a display error.  Just unplug all 3 of your speakers so you don't have to listen to the alarm and walk away from it for awhile to let it charge.  After that do a full clear with a 224, then a key with a 45 and set up the game again.
