Has anyone ever heard of a Silver Strike machine?

I dont know what they are called as far as S+ or S2000 or Vision or if there is some other classification for them.
But there used to be these machines by IGT that were similar to regular slots except for the fact that you could also win pure Silver $10 Tokens out of them if the symbols fell right. Earlier ones just looked like a regular old IGT slot, but newer ones had popped up and had a carousel on top of them  that would distribute the "Silver Strike" token if it were won.
   I know that IGT stopped making them and that casinos that wanted to keep them had to purchase them and maintain them, themselves.  I was just curious, in this great collection of slot hobbiests,  if anyone owned one.   
   Maybe these are not popular because they do not make good home machines but I was just curious if they ever pop up here from time to time?

At one time Rocky Mountain Slots was supposedly getting some, but it's been a year and I've never heard back from them. So I guess they've been available in the past

we loved those games  have about  300 tokens from them a few times it was only thing we won in vegas , found out that they are .60 of a oz of silver not the 1 oz we were told

Even at .6 oz they are worth almost twice their face value at todays market price.  Right before they ended the program silver was too expensive and they were only doing "silver clad" strikes.  Still a nice souvineer but no real value. It was nice to be winning actual silver.   I have many of them (not 300 like you have) I just thought it might be fun to look into owning one of the actual machines. But Im guessing even if they do pop up they will be out of my price range.  My budget allows an s+ or an s2000 or 2, but Im sure those would be 2x to 3x at much.  Fond memories of those machines though.

Other people are on the lookout for those games, but they were never the property of the casino - they were I believe owned and operated by Anchor, which is as good as saying by IGT. I've been told that IGT withdrew them all and destroyed them, none ever appearing on the after market. One or two may have fallen off the back of the truck on the way to the crusher, but they've never showed up on the market.

The deal was the casino purchased the tokens for about $6 each and - as far as I know - kept all the drop. A very profitable earner for all concerned, since in the beginning they only had about $3 of silver in them and nobody ever turned them in for cash.

There are still a few S2000 Silver Strike machines on the slot floors in Las Vegas today. I played them at the El Cortez and the Four Queens just last week.

As mentioned, the strikes no longer contain silver (save for a few specially marked strikes in the machines at the Four Queens).

I came across these the last day I was in vegas 2010 at planet hollywood, wish I had seen them sooner.  At that time they only had 4 of them. I wouldn't pass up the chance to have one.

Right before they ended the program silver was too expensive and they were only doing "silver clad" strikes.  

Any idea when (what year) they started doing that?  Back when I was in CA and went to Vegas a lot, they were just starting to go to TITO and those machines were starting to disappear. I managed to get some and they now in my "Vegas shrine" area of my game room. That was around 2004 or so.
