Does the BV light up red - or no light at all?

Do you hear it grinding away when you power up the slot?

Before you start looking at the Bill Validator ..... I would start by checking voltages coming out of the power supply that feeds it.... with a multi-meter.

If you don't get any voltage then we can go one direction if you get some then we can go another.....

think i found the problem

the plate that plugs into the side of the 145sg, it has p1-p2/j1-j2-j3-j4 &j5  looks like it has been burnt

it is a  AS-3356-202 rev-b  have any idea where i can get one of these

installed new side board -- ram clear--  green light comes on but the dbv does not work, will not take bills at all, does not initiate when turn machine on
