I am running a CPU-nxt board on my Legacy 550 machine. I have a BB top box monitor complete with CF card board. Can this be hooked up to the NXT board?

i have taken just the cf board and placed it in the 550 dual screen box and the only changes were the tx rx grd wires going to the bottom of the cabinet. on the chip version the 3 wires go to the serial port on the backplane and on the cf version the 3 wires will have to be tied into 3 wires going to the plug marked topbox on the backplane, have seen some 550 that have a plug in the harness from the topbox plug..

So to be clear. I will have to take the three wires on the serial port of the 550 backplane and move them to the plug marked top box on the same backplane or is this a plug on the CPU-nxt board? Also do yo know the pinout (Colors an so on) or do you have a picture of the three wires? Or will the plug simply move from one place to another?

do not connect directly to the cpu board

the 3 wires will go to the topbox backplane connector which is a big connector will see if I can locate which 3 pins

These are the pinouts I used for my topbox.  The molex is the connector on the backplane.  The DB9 is the serial port on the Topbox mainboard.

Top Box Serial Harness
Molex   DB9
1   7
2   8
3   2
4   3
5   5
6
7

Currently i see only 3 wires on the top box DB9. [violet/Orange, violet/yellow and black. then on the inside going to the tsetse FlY from the DB9 i have white with different color stripes. did you use the white wires or violet?

These wires go to top box connector on backplane and not the serial plug on backplane the old top box was hooked to?
