IGT Progressive on an S2000, changing games

Hi Guys,

   Really need some help. I have my 1st S2000 and it has a progressive display. The game currently works fine, however I want to change games. I've been told that if I change games, it'll erase the memory on the progressive and basically will become useless. However, I have read  a few things about my display. I read that if the machine has Keychip Config I, Keychip Config II and progressive in its menu, all that was needed was a Keychip when you change games. Or can you just change chips, clear the error codes and it'll be good to go? 
One other question, can you have a coin set-up (hopper, comparitor, etc.) along with a progressive display and TITO??  Thanks for any help.

That's definitely one for the Progressive Gurus....maybe ask FORDSBS? He seems to know his way around a progressive, that's for sure.

Thanks for kind word but I'm new @ progressive. I try it & if it doesn't work I start over.
It's been only a few weeks that I've only been messing around with progressive

what happens to the progressive settings (linked, standalone) will depend on what GME (Game chips - Operating System) is in the machine
When I had SG000362 I would have to key chip my machine and select the progressive controller after every game change
Once I switched to SG000363 no longer had to mess with the key chip to get the progressive to function, also true for SG000598 game chips

if you can post some pictures of the progressive display that is in your machine it will allow me or others here to provide details on exactly how to proceed
Also post back the Current and new base chips (SB), Game (GME - SG), and Version Chip (VS) that is installed on the MPU.

Hopefully the pictures got downloaded. Currently I have SG523 game 1 & 2. SB 100191, version chip VS0116x1 and sound simm DVS00042.

I think that 523 should just stay in place because I do not think you will have the issues like I did with 362
you may still have to key chip it to adjust the progressive to match the new theme but that is totally up to you if you do

Just leave the 523's in the macine.

Okay, so what I'm learning from everybody, thank you all for the input, is that I have a Spectrum display, keep the 523 chips, change out the game chip. If the 523s work then don't worry about keychip 17. The rest of my questions I'm finding out in other post and don't want to bother my fellow memebers with questions that have already been answered. Thanks of all the help, karmas to everyone.
