Have a Bar Top game that says coin in jam.
These are ticket in / ticket out games only. Never had a coin mech in it since opening. Both I/O are good, complete ram clear no change, no shorts to ground, all plugs secure into back plane.

I had a Game King yesterday with that same error and ended up changing the MPU to fix it.  The machine was working fine and my Son removed the coin comp. got the coin error and that board has never worked again. Put the board into a couple of different machine with different software, error still there.
