Had a Gen 2 Universal I had to replace for partial prints.
Powered game down and replaced printer with new one. Upon powering back up, these tilts came up.
1. Device off line
2. Printer tilt
3. Printer door open
Put this new printer in the game next to it and the new printer came up fine.
The known good working printer in the game next to this one I put in the problem child AVP game
Same tilts as listed above

Yes, there was 2 ports open on the back plane so I just swapped the printer, and bill validator and whatever plug the other device went to

Solution was to put yet another brand new printer in which finally solved the issue as strange as that may sound.
Thanks for the advice though
