so far i tried replacing
1-power supply
2-504b board
3-all chips sb100512 sg000371

this all started when i did a ram clear i started getting that vfd and call attendant on top box flicker....... like today i replaced the sb chip and it started flickering right after i replaced the chip so i did another ram clear and it stopped flickering till a few hours later when i shut it off and restarted it..... started to flicker again had to power it off wait like 3 minutes and turn it back on and it stopped again...... heres the vid of the flickering...... only thing i didnt replace yet is backboard...... or did i miss any settings after i ram cleared it?

Hey staz, just for the heck of it, disconnect your TITO cable that connects the max232 to the machine...still happen?  Also, your USB power adapter is plugged into the receptacle inside of the machine right?  Unplug it as well just to see if anything changes.

ya jas i unplugged tito and still happens...... the weird part that gets me is say i put the origenal sg chips in the 328's it does it constantly right after install but when i put my sg000371's in, it does it randomly after a power off and on.......im thinking maybe the clear chip i used messed up my machine? i used a 224 clear chip...... it looks like it cleared everything accept the time and date was still exact.....

Yeah, that's a possibility I suppose.  I'm not familiar with the chip configurations for the Barcrest machines, but if the Barcrest experts out here acknowledge that you are using the latest and greatest chips, then maybe a new clear chip is in order to try.

Could it be a loose sensor wire? ... "DOOR OPEN MB"  would seem to indicate that.  Scratch Head
When you cycle the power, you have to open and close the door, so perhaps that is why it seems to be related?

ok, got on my computer and watched the video. Have you looked at your belly door switch and maybe pull the wires off and tie them together? Also, check cashbox door switch to make sure it's closing. I've used the 224/45 chip combo on all my machines for over a year now without issues and I've got 2 Barcrest's that I've used them on multiple times. If you have a spare backplane I guess you could try it, but it looks from the video that if it's not a switch or optics problem then I guess I'm stumped also.

I've never heard of it, but it being a barcreat would lead me to believe it has to do with the backplane of the top box. I wonder if the one set of chips needs a faster MPU, like a 1270 or something? I'm still leaning towards a switch or optics issue though

I have had several machines do the same thing yours is doing... It's the belly door switch, it's going bad. Just splice the wires together to solve your problem. That should fix it.

well all i did was put the 371s in with the multi denom version chip, did a ram clear and keyed it......basicly how i had it before...... when it gave me no problems......then i set up titto on it and i played this thing today all day 12 hours so far and no issues...... accept i got a b closer error but that was cuz my cash box got so full of tickets it loosened my cash box door open...... so i locked cash box door now......my guess is its a software issue with my game chips...... i should have my 328's tested on another machine to see if they were the problem......
