Not sure if I'm posting on the correct forum but I have a IGT Model GR65C9. Made in July 1995. My problem is, I can't get the hopper empty to reset. I accidentally hit the cash out. I have tried everything. Reset key, I have been through selftest with no luck. Any ideas on what I need to do to clear this hopper empty error? My machine starts out with 1300 credits and is a 25 cent machine. I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

you'll either have to let the hopper complete the pay out or clear the memory.

I have one of those machine's and found that I had to run the coins through it

I got about 400 coins and just let it pay them to me then put them back in the hopper and closed the hatch and it will keep paying just repeat the process till all credits have been paid

there is a way to clear them but you need a clear chip and involves more steps

I was able to clear 2300 credits in like 14 or so reloads

but I have a Nickle machine so it might take you a little longer depends on how many coins you have

I am sure others will give you more info that is what I learned from this site and just thought I would pass it on

They're right -- there is no easy way to get rid of that except to have the hopper pay out the 1250 credits you have on there right now.  Load up as many quarters as you have and let them cycle through, and repeat as necessary until all of the coins have paid out.

thanks guys for the responses. I got it figured out and working now. I just removed the mother board, unsoldered the battery for about 10 minutes and then reconnected it. That cleared all my credits and the hopper empty problem. But now the BV isn't working. It does wanted to take in any bills. I runs off and on for a few seconds when I power the machine up but that's about it. I can also see a couple of little red led's inside up near the top that are lit up.

Well, that's one of the reasons I didn't suggest doing that.

You now need to re-enable your bill validator with a SET chip.  If you don't have one, you'll need to purchase one and wait for it to arrive before you'll be able to use your validator again.

Directions on how to use the SET chip can be found here:

The BV still runs off and on when I turn the machine on. Also can see a couple of lit up red LED's inside of it. Does that mean anything? Still need that Set chip?

Most of the vendors on the main page can provide them.

Yes, it means that the bill validator is getting power when you turn the machine on.

Yep.

As Jay mentioned, contact any of the vendors on the site, or post a request in the Classifieds section requesting a SET chip to enable the bill validator on your IGT PE+ video poker machine.
