I have a problem with switches reading the same:

both the 1 and 3 ball playfield switches read "17" in the switch self test. While in play mode, if you knock down the 1 ball target, it says "one ball" but drops the 1 and 3 ball target and both light up in the bonus rack area on the playfield.

Same goes for the top left rollover and the 8 ball target, they both read "33" during the switch self test.

Same goes for the 2x and 4x top left drop targets, they both read "01" during the switch test. If you knock the 2x target down, it also gives you credit for the 4x as well.

The game has a new Alltec board and a new solonoid driver in it as well. I have checked for any broken or corroded molex pins on the mpu board and they all look fine.

Everything else on the game works and plays as it should.

Any ideas as to what I can do to resolve the switch problems?

Thanks

If the altek board is OK then you have some wires crossed somewhere in the playfield.

You can put the board into switch test mode and then remove the upper right plug form the CPU. This is the playfield switch plug. Then with a look at the schematic you should be able to jumper from pin to pin on the plug and make each switch light up starting with switch one. If all the switch numbers work properly this way you know for sure your problem is playfield related.

Pins 1 - 5 of the J2 are the playfield strobes. 8 - 15 are switch returns. By touching pin 1 to pin 8 should light up a switch number on your display's. Then switch 2 to 8 and 3 to 8 and so on. Once you have touched all the strobes to all the returns one at a time you should see the result of only one switch number per strobe to return per each jumper event. If you see the same number twice along the way this is a indicator that the problem in in the CPU board.

The bottom Right plug is the coin door switch plug.
