WBA-13 problems.

well my IGT GameKing (5.1p) has a WBA-12 with OLDER firmware (3.75.34) on it...and works fine.

came across a pair of WBA-13-SS units with the latest firmware 3.80.34 with ID 24..
change the 12 for the 13 and get Bill Validator CRC mismatch...

ok. close the door and open it. let it sit for a few minutes OPEN.. close it... same error..

turn the reset key and hit the diagnostics -> bill validator test... Lights dont light up
like they normally do with the 12 in this test... ok. hit the button to disable it.. hit it again
to enable it.. NOPE... lights still not on..wont take any bills.

return to game ... back to Bill Validator CRC mismatch..

so grabbed my keychip (040) and cleared the ram and reconfigured the machine... same thing..

BOTH of these units do this. stuff back in the 12... open and close the door... error goes away..

both WBA13's cycle normally when the GK boots.

what am i doing wrong here?

You can press the test button, go to IO Test go down in IO to BV go into BV and down to where you can set the CRC. Your assuming the two new BV 13s are good. 

A BV cycling when you turn the power on only tells you one thing. " the BV is getting power "  If you remove the MPU from the machine and turn the power on, the BV will cycle !!

you were right on the money. once i found i could clear the CRC and then have it recalculate it ... problem gone...
