Bought a Universal Swinging Senevens today. Plugged it in and lights come on but nothing on the displays. I am not sure what model it is but serial number is 38449. It says Japan not Las Vegas. Checked all fuses. Will post picture. Any suggestions where to begin?

That is an older style Uni made in the mid to late 90's. Universal did not put serial numbers on their machines until about 1994 and then they just etched it on inside the machine.
And that is one of the nicest older style Uni's I've ever seen!!  yes
It looks like a clone of Midas Touch. (Same game and system chip)

Your hopper is an Ashi-Sieko.
Your power supply is a Yellow Dot. Most likely your noise filter in the power supply is the cause of your problems. It is not needed and can be removed.

Uniman,

Here is what I have:
#1 - One Green Wire
#2 - One Green Wire
#3 - Two Green Wires
#4 - Two Green Wires

I connected 1 & 3, 2 & 4 as instructed. Noise box burnt and cracked.

Still nothing.

If you have a multi-meter you should check power supply outputs as listed in the referenced post above.
Pins #7 and #10 are grounds.

The board requires a steady 5vdc to operate. It then sends the code to display zeros on the display meters.

If it is not the power supply then it must be the board. A pic of the board may show something. (like missing eproms, battery, etc)
I see in your open door pic a few extra wires coming out of the round hole in your board case.
The three pin connector with two wires and the six pin connector with five wires are for the spin, etc, buttons on the door. The big connector should be for casino communication and may go to a sub board in the machine or nowhere. It is of no use for home users, you should be able to unplug it.
Those two? blue wires going down, where do they go??


Need to verify if power supply is supplying proper voltage before proceding. If you don't have a multi-meter, Wal-Mart sells a cheap one for about $15.

#10 GROUND
#11 36.55 VDC
#12 14.62 VAC

Items 2,6,8,12 are inconsistent with numbers provided in post that you instructed me to reference. I think we have a power supply issue! Would you concur?

Yes I would agree except that I believe 2,5,6, and 12 should all be the same DC voltage in the Yellow Dot power supply as they come from the same rectifier. Right now I'm on the road for a week and don't have access to the schematic but those should be around 24-30vdc so yes, it looks like the power supply is bad.

Update - Checked Bridge Rectifiers Found Capacitor Swollen Replaced Capacitor Voltage Changed On Pin 2 to 34.54 VDC.

Pin 6,8,12 Still Low Any Suggestions?
