I have the chance to purchase this machine for $50 bucks. Wanted to know what you guys think. Don't know much about it since I'm thinking about buying it from a friend of a friend. What model is this machine? No sure if it's a IGT or not. Thanks for any feedback.

Looks like an IGT Player's Edge (no plus) from late 80's.  If it works, then you can't go wrong with $50.  The parts are worth more than that.  I love poker, so it's a "buy" from me.   Good luck!  wave  :Dave

Agreed with Dave on the machine type and the purchase advice.

Never mind, did not see that yours has 9 buttons to my 8.
So I would go with fortune II.  PE is a bigger machine, attached a picture of one.

It looks just like the fortune 1 that I had as well. The buttons are the flat style where I think they went to the raised buttons by at least the pe+.

I've never had a PE (non +) but that machine definitely looks like my old F1

it's definitely a fortune I,  -however i've seen the guts of a pe plus inside a fortune I cabinet, probably to circumvent California antique slot law.

fortune II has the deal/draw, cash-out and bet buttons on the right side of the cabinet mounted in plexiglass monitor cover.

button placement can be a giveaway, however i have seen modifications or buttons completely replaced in the f-1 and f-II

ps: there is a huge difference between the players edge and players edge plus -the only sure way to tell is the way the main board connects.

Looks great, my second picture is my PE+ machine, that is why the layout looks better. I showed you two different machines I had.

you can change the fortune I to credit style by changing the program chips to credit and swapping the button panel with a 9 button type.
