Yes that's correct. I never had a problem with the bill acceptor until now with the new board. I did just put switch 10 back on and started it up. The game loaded right up with no error codes however the bill acceptor didn't cycle or make any noise at all. It doesn't take bills either.

I tested the voltage to the bill validator and there isn't any. I checked the black and the orange wire that goes to it looking for 12v but there wasn't any. I then did a ram reset to try that and now once it loads its back to the error code that says, "bill vali door open".

that is the pin outs of cn12 on the MPU...Do you have a cable hooked up at that position?...Photo of the MPU installed with cabling if possible...CN12 should be as your looking at the board on the left side towards the front of the machine...Sometime people hook that cable to the wrong spot...

Not sure if this matters but I traced the 2 wires that connect to the cash box switch and the purple one is cut right under the bill acceptor. Could this be the problem? It's had to have always been like that since I've had the game.

Actually I think the wires from the switch went here and the switch was just bypassed here at this plug.

It looks like one of the ribbon cables is not seated all the way in the socket on the CPU board.

I checked the ribbon cables and they all seem to be seated all the way down. This door status code on the front of the machine has 3 blocks lit up next to the "p" which is saying that the cash cassette door is open, the cash cassette is removed and the bill acceptor door. None of which are open or missing. What would make the machine think all those sensors are tripped when they're not?

Where is the cable plugged into CN24 going?...Is the Cable in CN12 going to the BV?....

The cable that's plugged into cn24 goes to the bill validator. There's nothing plugged into cn12.

Ok so I have no clue how it got there but your right again. The cable was in the wrong spot. I transferred them over from the old board to the new one exactly how they were but I guess the cable was unplugged and put in the wrong spot a couple years ago which is the last time this thing worked. I think your going to have to send me a bill for this since I seem to have another problem though. When I put a dollar in the bill validator it takes it but it doesn't register the credits and gets jammed. I have to take the cash box out and then grab the bill along the top and pull it out the rest of the way. It doesn't put the bill into the cash box. Yes I'm sure the cash box is in facing the correct way when I put it in. Any other amazing suggestions for this one?

Great news so far...You can try taping all the levers the cash box engages when installed and try run a bill without the cash box...If it does except and give credits, your cash box is bad...If it does not, then try cleaning the BV...I believe there are some threads on how to clean them...Let me know

I didn't find a helpful thread for cleaning the BV but I took it out and blew some compressed air through it and checked all the belts, etc. It still doesn't work. I think its something else. When I put a dollar in with the cash box out and the side door open I can see that the BV takes the dollar good and strong but only pulls it in far enough so it comes about 2" into the cash box compartment and then just stops. The motor doesn't continue to pull it the whole way through. Is there any kind of programming or resetting that has to be done since I changed the denom chip and main board?

No there is no programming...that is what the denom. chip does...What denom. did you get?...Also do you know the version software in the BV?

I was told to replace the denom chip before the board incase that was the only problem. The chip in the picture installed on the board is the new one I got that's in the machine right now and the original chip is the one in the other picture. I just noticed that they are different numbers. Is there a problem with that?

I have no clue about what software version it has. As I'm sure you realized by now, I'm not very knowledgeable about these things.

From the picture they look to be the same numbers...What do you see that I can't make out?...Sorry but wife says time to quit for now...Did you try putting back in your old chip?

The original chip says GA01-25C and the new one says GAM1U-25C.

Yeah, when I do that I get the original error message that says, "game data mismatch please check it."

You get that error if you only swap the GAL chip or are you swapping all your original chips?

Just the gal chip. I only have the 6 larger original chips. I never bought new ones of those.
