OK...Well at this point I am at a loss...I have not heard of the denom. chip to cause that problem...On that note, I have not seen a GAM1 denom chip so I am not sure what that means...the 01 & 02 are for different jurisdictions...Since you said that if you turn off sw1 post 10, the game works (but without the BV), then I would try to order a new GAL chip that is a 01...02's restrict programing...Where did you get the chip?

I got it from John at Rudysdeals.com. What do I tell him? The new chip might be defective?

He is a great guy....I have dealt with him for a long time now...Ask him if he knows what a GAM1 chip is for and that it seems to be not working...See if he has a GA01 to replace it...

I heard back from them about the chip and they said the chip they gave me came right off another treasure tunnel board and that they have a treasure tunnel machine with the same chip in that one as well. Not sure exactly what to do.

I am not sure either...I believe you have a SG145 bill validator head and transport...It has been awhile since I worked on a SG150...If you have the 145, you should be able to pull out he head and open up the cover to see if what eprom version you have...What bill were you trying to insert in the BV?

I tried putting a one dollar bill in. Does this picture answer your question about what type of BV it is?

The BV is a 200 which is good, but the bad news is it is the wrong ID...You need ID003 not ID44...I think I have a eprom with ID003...I will look this weekend...Happy Turkey day!

Thanks, I'm not sure I know exactly what you mean or how I have  the wrong eprom but as long as I'm left thinking that you might know what's wrong with this thing then I will sleep very good tonight. Thanks again and you also have a wonderful Turkey day.

If you remove the DB200 and look at the bottom of it you should see a eprom with a tag...Maybe photo that also...Sometimes the label is different then the actual eprom installed...

Could that chip have gotten damaged the same time the denom chip and board got damaged?  I never had a problem with this BV before. It always worked great with no problems. Also my new board  needs a new battery. The original board had a 3.6v battery that looks like a small AA battery and the new board I got has a 3.0 v round, flat battery. Do you know which kind I should get? I think its weird how both boards are the same but have different size batteries. Does it matter?

You do not need the battery...Just turn off sw2 post 7...The only way I can think of that both the MPU and the BV might have gotten damaged is by hooking up the power cable wrong...

The power cable being wrong never would have happened but I never had it plugged in a surge protector so I was thinking maybe a power surge?

Not the power from your plug that goes into the wall..The multi-pin connector that feeds from the powersupply to the MPU board...It is the big one on the backside of the board and on the right

I know the plug your talking about. I know it wouldn't have been plugged in  half turned  or anything like  that but I do know there is a plug a few inches back on the same  ribbon cable  where it plugs into the board that is the same size plug as the one on the end of the cable that I may have plugged in there. Not sure what that's there for. It's been a long time .

Wait niever mind. The cable all the way to the right. I'm positive I never touched that one except when I put the new board in.

Also I forgot that the DBV-200 uses a ID11/15 protocol not ID003 (that is for the 145 head) for Sigmas...I will still look to see if I have that...

Hey I got the chip and put it in and now the light in the front of the BV that says insert bills is flashing and it won't pull in the bills when I try to put them in. Do you know what could cause this? Could I have put the chip in backwards and needs to be turned halfway or something?

Are the wires hooked up to the reset key switch?...If you have a continuity checker, check that the switch is working...It should be N/O and when you turn it N/C...
When the jackpot key is activated, it turns on a light in the Meter Window.  If you see this light, then the key is working.
