I have a 2000 that I did not sell to guy but I inherited problem.
Call attendant comes up. If you turn key & go thru to button for 2-3 sec. etc it will work for about 3 hrs.
I put a new battery in with no difference. I'm going to go thru machine & check all connections next.
Does anyone have any advice?

One more thing. After I put battery in I put it in one of my machines with no problem

All it says is call attendant. He didn't say anything else.

I had a 504 board that was acting funny like that. It would say call attendant and I'd open door and get alarms so I changed the ram chips and it worked for a few months then failed for good. Don't know the root cause of the problem, just that the board failed

Well, He came with board today. I thought I'll put it in one of my machines & keep it on 24-7 & see if something happens.
Something happened all right.
Did a key, put chip back in,got key - buttons light up be nothing happens when you push buttons.

Put my board in & same thing-get key chip config-buttons light-nothing when you push buttons.
This machine worked 100% before. Checked all wires-not the problem.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for any advice other than tell him to go to h***.

What happens if you turn the game on and off? What lights are showing on the side of the MPU? If problem persists, change door IO card

Turned  off & on. No lights. Key chip config comes on again.

It should cancel out of keychip config either when you close the door or turn the machine off if your SB chip has been put back on the MPU. Try a clear chip if it won't go. What lights are on on the side of the MPU

Now key it then put the SB back in. Don't forget to keep the door open after the SB is in so you can set it up again

I'm wondering if his board had a short that hurt your motherboard. Any chance a plug got knocked loose while you were taking MPU's in and out?

Generally a loose plug or bad door IO card is the culprit, but where shutting the door doesn't reset it I'm leaning towards motherboard issue of some kind

I tried other things so Guess tomorrow have to look @ shop & see if I have a mother board around.

You bet Ford, if I think of anything else I'll post back, but if these are all your origional parts and it worked before you started, you're running out of possibilities. You are putting the SB back in to do the keychip programming, correct?
