Hello all,

I am very new at this so please bare with me.  I can find info for you so if I don't give you what is needed to make intelligent comments just tell me and I'll do the best I can to provide it.  So here we go:  Bought a new machine.  It had all the equipment for Multi Denom but in the place of the MD sticker was a .25 sticker.  I now have a Multi Denom sticker I installed for .01, .02, .01 and .05 ( trying to find a new sticker to give me .25, .50, 1.00 and 2.00 but CVslots is helping me there).  Here is what is in the machine.  Audio dsv00042, DSP DSPL0002, VS VSO11GX1, Game 1: SG000523, Game 2: SG000523, Base SB001000.

I'm not sure I understand the Key chip process.  Need a real low level "Key Chip for Dummies" explanation of what to do, when to do it and what not to do.  I figure if I can get it working with the denom for the current sticker then if I get a new sticker its a matter of doing this key chip process again and substituting the proper numbers.

PS.  The machine has the touch pad installed and connected and when I touch it in the "Player 1" position it does say CREDIT = 0.25.  Other positions don't do anything.  When I went into Key Chip setup it appears the other players are currently disabled and of course I can't change them.

I did purchase a Key Chip #31.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hi Mike,

Looks like your new machine is running an SS chip with an SB001000 (pull your board back out and see if there is a chip labeled "SS" followed by 4 numbers. The SS chip was written for the S+ platform, but can be ran in conjunction with the SB001000 in S2000s. While this combo will run the game just fine, I'm not sure if you can set up Multi-Denom in a machine that uses an SS chip/SB001000 combo...You may need to switch the SS chip/SB001000 to just an SB before you can utilize the Multi-Denom function.

Let's see if someone else can verify this for us.

Is this normal to use the older games in the newer machines?  I did find in the menu under 7.1.2 Game Selection  Game 1 is SS4710 95.07%.  What might I need to get this to the correct configuration?  I'm not crazy about "duct tape" solutions and it appears thats what I bought.  The system runs good and the sound is great.  Guess I need to do some more digging to better understand these chips and what does what.  I did see on the board a chip that was unlabeled, must be that SS4710 chip.

Messing with these things is fun but there is so much to learn but alas I'm afraid I'm hooked.

Thanks for the information Roslyn.

Mike,

The chip with the all white label in the SS socket is the SS4710 chip. Some game themes were developed for the S+ platform an SB chip was never even made for them. It's not a true duct tape fix, so no biggie there. Like I said, runs game just fine. There is an SB100055 for your game, so we need to get that for you. We will need to do our homework on the Multi-Denom setup and see if it requires a certain Version chip, as you may need to swap it while your in there.

Now you do have a Multi-Denom display, correct? When you look behind the Denom sticker, the little box which usually houses just a light bulb, will have a small brown board in it, also there is a molex coming out of the back.

Thank you leapyearguy!  applause applause applause   +1 (Karma, or whatever)

We'll see if he has the full MultiDenom display, get him an SB, and he should be set!

I do have the touch board all setup in the machine.  I validated it works because I can put my finger on it and it makes a beep noise and shows me the Credit - .25 so I think that part is correct.
