Hi.  I'm new to slots and finally got the machine up and working thanks to all the posts on this site.  I have a Double Diamond S-Slot and it seems like the thing just never pays out.  The current chip I have is an RS3438.  I heard the RS3436 has a better payout but I didn't know if there were any others.  Does anyone know where I might be able to buy a better payout chip?

Also, I've seen a lot of posts about a 'clear' chip and I don't know if I should order one for my machine just in case I ever need it - any advice?

There are sounds on my machine except the reel stops.  I read other posts indicating that if I have sounds turned on then the handle solenoid should make a sound when each reel stops.  I dont hear anything so where is this handle solenoid??

Thanks
Jim

Jim  Your really testing the folks.  As I recall the RS files and the SS files use the same numbers but different letters. If that's correct your RS3438 would be a 90,10% pay back. In looking around I think a RS3438 95.08 % is available. It also looks like it's a 3 coin chip. Maybe one of the other members can tell me I'm all wet on this one.  Scratch Head Scratch Head

Now where would a handle solenoid be, try looking on the handle mechanism on the inside of the machine. Solenoid releases the handle dog when the first coin in dropped into the machine. I have only worked on  one S machine and don't know if the stop sounds can be changed or not.

On the S machine I had we used a 123 Test chip to clear the machine. ( It did the job )

Buzz,

Thanks for posting a reply.  I was able to get an RS3836 from another member for $15.

As for the handle solenoid, i did check around the handle but I dont see any wiring going to a solenoid - only a microswitch.

I'll have to ask the guy who is sending me the RS3836 is he has a 123 Test chip

Thanks,
Jim

Jim I don't want to start a pissing contest, but if I'm right that RS and SS use the same numbering system I don't see in the bible that a  SS3836 is for a Double Diamond 2 or 3 coin. Besides a SS3836 is a 87.52 % chip.

Anyone that knows me knows I'm not trying to make a sale also anyone that knows me knows I most times don't know what the hell I'm talking about. I just would like for you to get the chip you need/want.

Buzz,

That's because I was trrying to recall the numbers from memory instead of lookin at what I ordered - sorry.

I ordered the RS3436, which I was told had a payout around 95%.  I think that may have been the one you were trying to mention in your first post but I think you had a typo (3438 instead of 3436).

Thanks for posting again to make sure I didn't order the wrong thing....hopefully I got it right - let me know

Thanks

Yes Sir your right. a RS3436 should be for a Double Diamond 3 coin 95.08 %

By the way when you get the chip changed your not going to see a big difference on the pay outs, but your going to feel better.
