I've read where it "may"  be possible to install /  retrofit  new (lcd)  touch screen on an Odyssey.

So... has anybody successfully done it ?   Would like to hear of any...

Thanks.

The Odyessy WILL work with a LCD widescreen monitor (I have done it for test). The problem is the touchscreen. i have not tried other touchscreens with it. The Touch controller is a common one.
if you look back on top of the CPU box you will see a HD-15 connector.
Getting a new CRT for an odyssey is NOT easy, but they DO use them in European TV sets (Philips).
Good luck with the project. My experiance was a LOVE/HATE relationship with my odyessy..loved it when it worked, hated it when it would kick me in the chops (happened WAY too much). We parted it out and saved a few other machines....

Thanks... I kinda knew that the Odyssey would function with LCD   screen... but as you've mentioned... the touch screen is the issue...plus the dimensions.    I have  3 working machines....however in transport,  the touchscreens were cracked.... so... that's  the dilema I'm in.   Probably will part them out.

I had one crack in transport also and the guy I bought it from had his original crack in transport too!!! DO NOT SHIP AN ODYSSEY THROUGH A TRANSPORT COMPANY WITH THE MONITOR/TOUCH SCREEN IN THE MACHINE!  Pull out the monitor touch combo and pack or crate it seperatly! touch screen up and not near anything that could break it. Even if you have insurence you cannot find them easliy.

What size/brand LCD are you using to replace the monitor?  More and more touchscreens are being made to go on LCD's now.  Who made the original touchscreen?  Microtouch, etc.
