Sigma UV1700 game questions & Boot Process

Does anyone know which Sigma UV1700 titles are
the "good games"?  Need some info on the clear chip too.

Yes,

You need to clear the game with a clear chip first, then install the new game chip, along with the CD. You DO need a small chip for each game. Setup takes about 10 minutes or so. I think Full of Sheep, and Circus, and Throw the Dough are good games.

I guess the pokers are much better than the slots.

They are correct, you need the SMALL clear chip and a game chip per game. it's pretty easy. There is a dealer on Ebay that has game sets (chip and CD) for around $65 (no glass). I have "Full of sheep" if you want that game, glass and all. If your interested in the complete set let me know?

I have throw the dough - it is a slot.  It is quite a bit of fun.  John42355 is a seller on ebay that can sell you a clear chip, the game chip and the software (on CD ROM) really at great prices.  He has a one game special (no glass included) for $40.  He occasionally gets the top/bottom glass for the games as well.  For the manual to the UV1700, I also got it for around $15 from Kellyr_2003 on ebay as well.

I would love to get my hands on another UV1700 - they're not the newest but the kids and I love playing them.  If you know someone whos has anothe for sale, please let me know !!

If you do swap out games, I suggest you get a chip removal too.  It is very easy to damage a chip in the replacement process.  You can use an awl tool, but also computekinc-us on ebay sold me one for $10 ( small investment).

So how do you "burn" those tiny PLCC32 chips?
(I assume you need a PLCC adaptor or ebay for
$20 and it will work with a standard EPROM programmer.)

Does Sigma use standard Dip EPROMs at all?

Is that what this adapter is for? 
I got this PLCC32 to DIP32 adapter with my eprom burner purchase two years ago. Always wondered what it was for.

That's exactly what it's for.  You can get a variety of adapters on ebay and many programmers suport them.

Also are the game chips the same size as the clear and set chips?

So i dug around and got the CDs for the following UV1700 games.
The guy had a whole stack of them, and i got some of these:

easy riches #00567, chksum $296f

Note the multiple versions for some games
(like Full of Sheep and Easy Riches). The game
ROM and CD ROM *must* match (have the same
number).

who has seen these games? are any decent? also
looking for the accompanying PLCC chip to go with
the above.

Also what is the "disk on chip" thing all about?
is that the same for all games?

I was told when your machine has a big failure it is recorded on the disk on chip after so many your game will not clear and A sigma rep will clear so they can tell what is the cause and fix and change the disk on chip           Paul

ok here's a couple pictures of the Sigma UV1700 cpu board.
It's basically a PC style computer motherboard. looks like
it uses PC3200 400mhz 512meg RAM (the vertical board
that plugs into the main mother board).

The three PCLL chips are in the lower right corner.
There is U48 (upper chip - bios), U51 (left chip - boot),
and U52 (lower right chip - game chip)

So my questions is this: how do you know which game
the game PCLL is?   The "PCD0004 - 00168 - K9847",
I know the game number is embedded in that number.
Do we have a list of game titles and matching game numbers?
It would be good to know because right now i'm trying to
put in the correct CD Rom, and i keep getting a "CD ROM
and EPROM do not match" error.

Also does anyone know what the two-digit LED code means
on the CPU board? it changes a lot during bootup. And no
reference to it in the manual that i can find.

look on the cd and you will see a number like 028 or 208 ect this number will be on the game chip as a version these must match also you got to make sure the plcc chips are in and making contact also I never use an chip puller for these chips I use a small all and pry a little each side to get them out

Ok good news, i'm further along.

So the first thing i noticed was the speed at which the
"Checking CDRom" message was going. If it doesn't
progress with a good steady increase in percentage
until you get to 100%, you either have a drive problem
or a CD disk problem.

In my case I took all my CD ROMs and cleaned them using a
"Skip DR" cleaner. This helped DRAMATICALLY in the loading
the CD Rom!  And now i could tell that my Amigo Road CD
was bad (would get stuck on 5% and take forever to get
past that).

So I figured out i have a "Lava" game ROM because it now
boots with the Lava CD Rom.  But I need to do a clear (and
right now i don't have the clear chip).

Well Clay, I googled on the set chip and the only real hit that came back was this post    Looking at your picture's... Do you have a IO board installed( those 2 slots above the CPU board)?

Yes both of my 1700's have that IO board mounted above the CPU board
and to the left of the CD Rom. What is that board for?

Sorry Clay,but as you know ... We are both learning the 1700's together   . I could tell if you had one in yours . One of mine has a push button on it(thinking reset or clear  ) .

Clay I am not sure but the bottom of the two small boards are for set up. you can remove that board and machine will still operate

I was told that the bottom board was for the network at the casino ... My is  running with the board out  . Would like to know about the top board...mainly that eprom on it and is that where the set chip goes
