Just getting back into the hobby recently and was wondering about an issue on a PE+
The game working fine, but the colors on the attract screen (the menu for the 4 games) seems off.  Its kinda gray and dull.
I recall reading years ago that this is due to a game swap or something like that.
Is it something that can be easily fixed? or is it a "let sleeping dogs lie"?

I am fairly handy and have used set and clear chips, but would not get into writing code of eproms of things like that.

Thanks in advance

You may have the wrong CAPX chip installed on the board. That's not anything you can fix other than getting the correct replacement chip. Care to post your chip numbers (including the MRO, MGO, MBO, MXO graphics chip numbers and the CAPX chip in your machine? Also, a picture of the screen would be helpful to determine if the colors are off.

I agree, sounds like an incorrect caprom. I still don't have the right one in mine but it only affects the game select / menu screen

I'll check the chip #'s when I have time.
Yes, it is just the game choice screen that looks off, the game scenes for the 5 games all look fine.
I'll post back soon.

Here is a pic of the screen.
The machine came from April in Ohio and after looking at the board, the chips are just hand written "game set 2"
I'm hoping that the screen shot will be enough.  I have a few more closeup shots of the chips if that would help.

If its a cap chip I need, are those available? or is it a needle in a hay-stack search?

Wrong CAPX chip. You can try to post in the classifieds section to see if someone has the correct one. They are getting harder to find, but they're not yet extinct.

See this post for more about your situation: http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=4783.msg47782#msg47782

Definitely CAPX chip, that's how mine looks too. Fine in-game but the menu shows like that. Been out of the loop any new news on those adapters for them or the multi caproms?

I don't know that any were mass produced, but there are schematics to create your own in this thread:

I'll have to look into that for sure. I'm tired of that ugly menu screen, plus I have a couple other sets as well
