Hi All,

I hope you all had a nice Christmas

I have just come in from my slot machine and have found a problem with the CPU.
There is a diode(?) R26 which appears to be broken. Would anyone know whay R26 does, and if so, is it related to my lack of LCD display and reel spin?

I have checked and rechecked the PSU and I think the problem is not there Scratch Head

I will post pics of the fault when I get batteries for the camera...

Cheers,

Dave

"R26" is a resistor. All resistors are R's, diodes are D's.
This 10k resistor, next to the battery, is on the incoming voltage to the RAM chip, and it looks like the board would not work without it.

Thanks Jim,

Are these resistors easy to get? Is that what I look for, a 10k resistor?? Scratch Head

Thanks,

An electronics store such as Radio Shack should have them.
Color bands should be Brown, Black, Orange, with the forth band either Silver or Gold. The board currently has at R26 a 10,000 Ohm resistor +/- 10% (silver 4th band). Gold 4th band would be +/- 5%.
Either should work.

Hi Jim,
I sourced another card with the similar resistors to replace R26 and switched it and the one beside it. Still no luck hissy fit

I am thinking of either leaving the machine as an ornament or maybe obtaining a replacement CPU board for it??

Do you know of anyone who could repair or replace my CPU board? If it is possible would it be expensive?

Many thanks again for your advice...

Dave
