UNIVERSAL 8600 two wire connections

I have already posted a few code blue enquirries regarding this pain in the arse machine but no takers as yet so will try with this one.

Again the machine is a UNIVERSAL (Pacific) fire bird 5 reeler with an 8600 main board. As per the pic below there are two wires coming out of the front of the board case one being a hot red  lead the other black or neutral. Would anyone have a clue at ALL where these two wires may go?  they are a part of the sub harness which is connected to the bank of small number meters located and connected to the underside of the lid of the main board case? These are entitled from left to right as:

TURNOVER[  COINS OUT]  COINS TO CASH BOX]  COINS IN

Sure wish I could help but I know little, if nothing about the 8600 board. Only used outside the U.S.
A few have surfaced here in the states and I acquired one just to get a look at it. Couldn't get it working. It was a mess though.
Those wires sound like they count coin in/coin out. But that should already be hardwired in the machine. Yours appears to be added for whatever reason.

The other main item here is the wired in separate AC adaptor which I have never seen the adition of in any slot machine. It's output is rated at 14V 2.6 A. One end is directley wired to the bottom 2 poles of the 6 pole on off or power switch . The other free end has a gound wire connected and is fastened to the base of the power supply case. it is also unattached or disconnected from what ever component it fed PIC BELOW. I have no idea if this was added into the power supply by some former owner or is original work installed by the maker. Unless there is some other on board device that requires the stepped down 14 V power I am completely in the dark. So again I await here hanging on to the sides of the life raft awaiting for that ship of enlightenment to come along. HELLLLLLLP!!  SOS! lol

Thank you very much for your kind response I am very grateful for your taking the time to assist. I think at this point it's a case of knowing how the electronics are supposed to work not so much that the machine is all that different The wired in separate AC adaptor is a bit bizzare however perhaps somepne else with much more rexperience has seen this before.  I thank you so much JIm and wishing you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a very successful and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
