Ive got a wild cherry slot machine that lost its settings. Had to replace battery and now it works great but cant get bill validator to work. I got it adjusted so it adds credits with coins, but it has non working validator. It doesnt even try to take bills. Only cycles when cpu is reinstalled and restarted. If someone could point me in right direction for steps that need to be taken. Even with old thread. Im fairly new to slot machines. It was working before reset. Thanks Todd

Todd Try two things  First make sure the cash can is all the way in. Second just lift the main door latch, wait a couple of seconds then lower the latch. Do this three or four times.  What you have done with the door latch is every time the main door is opened ( no need to swing the door ) and closed a S 2000 will clear one error and only one error.  If you by chance have more than one error by opening and closing the latch a few times should clear all errors.

He posted this in the S+ section, Buzz.  Without any other info to go on, I'm going to answer it in case it's an S+.

If your machine had lost all of its settings, you'll have to re-enable the bill validator with a SET chip.  Directions on the process can be found in the FAQs under the "Rick's FAQs" button in the upper right corner.  Here's a direct link to the page about re-enabling the bill validator:

Ok Guys I installed the set 15 chip set and changed it 9 0 to a 9 1 saved it all went through the whole thing and the validator rotates, but still wont accept money, wont even try to take it. I'm thinking its the validator or something else. I used same chip set to do my buddies last week and got his validator to work great. I did it twice to make sure I did it right and it still wont take bills. The light above validator is not lit if that means anything. Any other tricks or hints to see what it could be would be appreciated. I do not have another validator to put in to try. Thanks Todd

Todd Holding downward pressure on the front of the BV, press down on the RED lever. If the rear of the BV moves up, it's not installed correctly.  There are a couple of small tabs on the back of the transport that fit into a couple of slots on the BV chassis.

Buzz and Knaql, I somehow got it to work. I wish I knew for 100 percent what it was, but fiddled with it and all of a sudden light came on and it started taking bills. I appreciate you both helping me out, with your help, its how I got it figured out. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. Todd

Glad to hear it, Todd!  Make sure that the two brass thumbscrews under the head are screwed into place so the transport will mate with the cash can properly each time you remove and re-insert the can.  If the two don't mate, the validator will never indicate to the machine that it's ready, and the light won't come on.
