hello, i am new to slots in the home. just received the triple bonanza for christmas. it does not have a coin acceptor - just bills. we have been playing the machine using a 100 bill and just getting it out and reusing it. i noticed somewhere online that we could set the number of credits a bill would generate - say if you put in a one dollar bill you could get 100 credits, etc. i found that setting under "tokenization" but could not seem to set it. the lights on the buttons went out every time it showed what a particular setting the machine was set to and several places displayed "field locked" or some such. my question is how do i set the individual settings on the machine? do i have to get a chip or something? i also would like to set the max credits stored in the machine to more than 1000 (so it doesn't print tickets all the time) and i found that place too, but could not change the setting. also, this machine was made in 2003 - is it an s+ OR S2000? thanks in advance to all the experts out there with any info you may be able to supply! My guess is that it's an S2000 because you seen "2003" on a tag but it would help you and us much more if you posted a picture of your machine and there will be several fellow members that would be able to help you get your machine running the way you want it to!

That's an S2000. I'm moving the topic to that category.

If you want to change any of the limits, they can be changed without a key chip, but you MUST have zero credits on the machine to do these changes. You said you have already found the test button so no need for me to go there. When changing anything and everything you will be using four buttons on the play deck. Spin button goes into each section, cash out and service buttons will increase or decrease the amounts you want, and MAX Bet button will save your settings. ( It's really no big deal, you can't hurt anything by pushing the wrong button )

Now sooner or later your going to need a clear and a key chip. What I need for you do do is with the power off to the machine remove the MPU ( the board that has the test button ) Caution do not use your thumb when pulling the board out. ( Hurts like hell ) Now please post the numbers on the Game chips. They will be something like SG000???, I think your base chip is SB1000084.

there are two sg chips that say 1 of 2 and 2 of 2 with the number sg000312 on both of them. i do not see any chips that start with sb, but there is one that has something markered over (could be "version") and then "chip" and below that "vs011nx4". that chip sits between what appear to be sim type memory slots. i have attached a photo of the board. i got the credit limit raised and the time and date set by cashing out the credits just like you said. i would like to buy the chips i will eventually need if you could point me in the right direction to get them. thanks so much for the help! The SB chip is the 40 pin chip that's next to the SG chips that doesn't have a label.  The window on it really does need covered. ( UV erases the chip using that window ) Put a label on it, the number is SB100084.  That 40 pin chip is where you will be putting the clear and then the key chip, someday.

Here's the best deal I've made this year, Donate 25 dollars to NLG if you have it, if not I'll send the chips anyway.  A Key 31, Clear 97, (2) SG000363 Game, and a V011GX1 Version chip. I think you will like the display on the VFD ( Blue Screen ) better with the SG000363 and if you change the Version all you will need is another button on the play deck to make it a multi Denomination game. ( the wiring is already installed by IGT )

Just send me a PM with your address.

Oh and that Green battery on your board has to go.  Last time I talked a guy into removing that battery I ended up at his house replacing the board.  Hope you live close by.

i will cover that with a label and the proper #. i was going to make a donation anyway - this forum rocks with all the willing help. so i'll do that right after posting this. i've made the best deal of the year! Wink

by multi denomination game you mean it'll play for both catholics AND protestants? what a deal. seriously, what does that mean? and what do i need to do, just cut a 1" or so hole in the deck and add another button? sounds cool, but i don't know if my wife is gonna be too thrilled about me and a hole saw around her christmas present!

what's the deal with the green battery? do i need to remove it? replace it? is there something inherently wrong with green batteries? now my wife is gonna see me with a hole saw AND a soldering iron. uh oh.

one more thing for tonight - is there a way of programming the amount of credits a certain bill will enter into the machine? like can i set it to give me a hundred credits just by inserting a one dollar bill or similar?

ok, i'm off to donate then i'll pm my addy. thanks mucho for all the help! Smiley

The Paper dollar can not be changed to a different amount But coins can be tokenized to any amount . Your machine needs to have coin handling installed in it . It can be added if it is not in there . The green battery in a NON enhanced board is not needed and will eventually leak and corrode your board an ruin it . So it is best to remove it and then just enjoy the hobby .  The multi demonation is for different amounts of monies played per spin  . Like .25 / .50/ $1/ $2 /  There is usually extra plugs in the button panel to add a button with out drilling any holes  P.B.

Bill     no hole saw needed.  See that square plate to your right of the MAX BET button, under that plate is the hole and if you look close you will find the four wires that go to the new button.  They are Yellow, Black, Blue, and Red. Multi Denom is the ability to change the value of each credit played. Example if you set your multi Denom to a Penny, Nickle, Dime, and Quarter ( your stuck with just four ) run a dollar bill into the BV, if you pick a Penny, your 3 coin machine will play 33 games with out a win. It's costing you three cents a spin, if your feeling like a big spender, pick a dime and now it's costing you thirty cents a spin. So what Multi Denom is going to give you is exactly what you have been asking if it can be done. 100 credits for a dollar.

Now the Green battery isn't needed for home use and they tend to start leaking acid and harming the MPU. Just be carefull and don't damage the traces on the board that are right below the battery. You can use a screw driver and break the metal strap from the battery, then just bend the strap back and forth until it breaks from the board right at the solder joints.

Let me look around tomorrow and see if I have a new square button for you, I know I have some rectangle ones but I think that would look like crap.  I'll also mail the chips tomorrow.

Thanks for the donation, wish a whole lot more folks would do the same thing.

wow. just took the battery off and it had quite a bit of acid already leaking out. luckily, it doesn't look like it had damaged the board yet. did you end up finding a switch? if not let me know where i can buy one because that sure looks like the way to go.

I didn't get a chance to look, I've been messing around with Doctors all day. I'll find you a button even if I have to take one off of a machine.

Bill it's not difficult at all, ball park about 100 bucks. IMO a waste of a C note. I'm glad you ask, why did he say that. Most of the machines I sell the buyer wants coin handling, they get it home and one of the first calls they make to me is " How do I disable the coin hopper "? "someone hit the cash out button, the machine has 2000 credits and I only have 25 quarters in the hopper" What do I do ???  OH and don't forget the different coin errors your gonna get. Oh and don't forget the " Someone keeps filling their pockets with my quarters "

Now that I see I haven't talked you out of it your going to need a coin head, coin comparator, coin comparator bracket with coin out optics, a wire harness, a coin chute, and a hopper. Forgot a coin tray if you don't already have one.

Ros @ CVslots may have what you need, Rudys Deals, Raz410,  LA Slots or just post Want To Buy

some very good advice as usual, buzz. however, i thought i saw an option somewhere where i could set cashout to print a ticket instead of sending quarters to the tray? or maybe anything cashed out over x amount would go to the ticket printer? i just have that idea in my head of visiting casinos in years gone by and hearing the quarters piling into the metal tray at the bottom and going back to the hotel room with a cup full (a few times!) of quarters and feeling like midas. but if it's not worth it, it's just not. anyway, nice to know it can at least be done! thanks again. There are a lot of post on this subject, if you go up to the Blue tab " Forum Index " click on it then down to BV and click there you will find more reading than you will want.

OK I'm going to assume you have a WBA like the pictures I attached. On the lower front of the BV you will see a flat bar, pull it down and out at the same time the whole BV will slide out. Look at the side that was towards the door latch and you will see (8) small white dip switches, make sure all (8) are in the up position (OFF) the switches were installed upside down by JCM.

Now you need to clean the optics. With the BV facing you there will be (2) small ears that are are 5/16" tall, using you index fingers pull the ears toward yourself  at the same time push up on the cover with your thumbs. Now you have found the optics, most folks on this site use a Q Tip and mild soap, I use the same process that my Grandmother used to clean my dirty face when I was a youngester, spit on a soft rag and smear your DNA around.

Now if the two above didn't help you may need to get your BV updated. If you have a WBA-12 -SS  it will need to be sent to someone that can flash program it, If you have a WBA-13-SS they use a eprom program. Look on the bottom rear of the transport, if you see a eprom it's a 13. Look and see if the transport has a tag telling you the version installed, I think the newest is V 3.80-34

and also, is there away to get the acceptor to take it's own printed tickets?

It's true you can set the hopper limits to any number of coins you wish. Someone hits cash out the hopper will pay out that limit and the remainder will go to the printer

hey buzz, i got the package today and came home to install everything. but when i put in the new version chip and the two game chips and powered on i got a european sounding siren and the display read "ram error". so then i removed all three and replaced the originals and now it does the same siren and says "system error". any ideas what i need to do? thanks!

by the way, the problem accepting bills was three of the switches were set to on. i switched em and now it works fine. the tito is on the way too so thanks for that info!

Put the eproms I sent you back in and power on the machine. when you hear that God awful alarm, turn the jackpot key a few times, now watch the VFD display and follow the direction's it gives you. Should go like " press test button for 3 seconds ( button on the MPU) then :close main door" wait a while then you should see " Call Attendant " open the main door and alarm will sound again, turn the key a few times again. Now the machine may boot up and sometimes it will make you do all the above again. If you have to do the above more than 3 times, your going to have to do a clear and key.
