well, that was easy enough! booted right up first time through turning the jackpot key four times. the first three it gave me some dire warnings about settings gonna be lost, etc. once i closed the door when it said so it came right up.

i also installed the multidenom switch you sent. but i feel like an idiot again. is there something i need to do to get it operative? i looked through the setup menus but didn't see anything.

by the way, i'd like to pay ya something on these chips and switch you sent. you shouldn't do that for nothing! just tell me what you think is fair. thanks again for all the help. Smiley

This old thread may help you.    http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=12388.0

With zero credits on the machine there is a out side chance you will not have to do a clear. Might have a problem because we don't know what the last person set your accounting denom. at. The lowest denom you want can not be lower than the present accounting denom setting. The only way to change the accounting denom is with a clear chip. ( AND THAT SHOULD BE THE ONLY TIME YOUR EVER GOING TO NEED A CLEAR CHIP )

Here is a thread with complete instructions on how to do a clear and key.    http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=21991.msg175841;topicseen#new

You don't owe me a dime, a deal is a deal, besides it's just something I do,   If you have trouble PM me your phone number and I will be back about 6 PM West Coast time.

ok, making progress i think. went through the clear and key chip instructions and set the accounting denom to .01. after that i was able to define player 1 as .01, player 2 as .05, player 3 as .10, and player 4 as .25. i also read on one of those threads where you could set the payback for each denom - like put .25 at 97% and .01 at 93% and so on but it seems to be stuck at what my chip is, namely sb6296 (95%). can i set the percentages DOWN from 95? and if i got a 97% chip set them up to 97%? or do they all get stuck on whatever the chip is? i think it would be cool to let the user pick their denomination but the odds get better the higher the denom is set at. or maybe i'm just dreaming. lol

but the button to change the denom still doesn't appear to be active. the screen says a credit is worth .01, but i can't seem to change it. i tried it with the credits at zero and with credits at 100. i have gone through the menus looking for an option to "activate denom" or similar but found nothing.

how does that button normally operate? i've never used a machine with it there before. i don't know if it is supposed to light up at certain times or what.

by the way, you were right about the new display. i really like the info it shows much better than the previous chip.

ok got it! i was reading another thread again and noticed the 7.1.2 menu and went through the key process again and enabled those games and voila! now my only question is there was only the 95% payback option listed for each denom. is there a way of setting different paybacks for different denoms?

this stuff is fascinating to me and way cool! lol Smiley

hey buzz, i'd like to buy a higher percentage payout chip, like maybe the ss6295 (i currently have the 6296 95% chip installed) any advice on where's the best place to go for that? also, i can't seem to change the payout percentages for the different games on 7.1.2. any idea why? by the way, how's the eyes doing?

You have a better one than I do, best I can do is SS6297   92.51 %.   What you really need is a SB100084 Base chip and shit can your SB001000 and SS chip. (sorry I don't have that base chip )

Basically a SB001000 is a generic base chip and along with a SS chip you can use a S+ game theme in a S 2000.  A lot of S+ game themes IGT never made a SB chip for them. In your case Triple Bonanza 3 reel 3 coin they did, a SB1000084. If you can find the new SB chip you can set your pay percentages in Key menu, range is usually between 98% and 85%. you can even pick different % for different denom.

If you do find a SB100084 you will not need a SS chip, just leave that socket empty.

Oh I forgot. They gave me a shot in the eye ball and it didn't do a damn thing, I still see waive lines with the right eye.

sorry to hear about the eye. hopefully they'll get that under control.

so my understanding is that i probably have the older 1000 generic sb chip with a 95% ss chip. and i need to look for an 84 chip. cool. i will put up a wanted to buy right away. last time i key chipped the machine i bent a leg on that sb chip but carefully straightened it out, but i'm gonna need one anyway as a backup. Smiley

thanks again.

also ordered one of those sb chips from a member for $15 so after that gets here i should be all done "tuning" this machine. now i'm looking for a red white and blue deluxe s2000 at a reasonable price to go next to the triple bonanza! Wink

hey buzz, maybe i'm doing something wrong again, but i don't know what it might be. maybe you know. i put in a new sb100084 chip today. key chipped, then installed it and took out the 95% chip that was in there. went to the game selection menu and changed the game percentages and then started playing. unfortunately, the payout is totally incorrect. it now pays 2 credits on three reels coming up blanks, doesn't pay anything at all for cherries, the seven is now wild, doesn't pay anything for three any bars, etc., etc. it does this on all percentage games. is there something i'm doing wrong? it seems like the chip is designed for a completely different game than the "triple bonanza" i have....

Bill It's nothing you did, the only thing I can think of is someone sent you the wrong chip, or the list I have is wrong and you need a different chip.  My list calls for SB100084 for Triple Bonanza 3R 1L 3C with a pay of 7,500. We are talking about the machine in the picture you posted aren't we ??

I gotta ask, any chance you had the reels out and maybe got them back in the wrong location ??

SB100084 is correct and all 3 strips are the same, you have wrong SB chip most likely, go into menu (1) Accounting... Program Version Accounting... and toggle to Base Chip SB number and see what number you actually have in machine

you hit the nail on the head again. it's a 100087 not the 84. the guy i got it from said he had a 100087 but i asked the the 84 and he said he made a typo. must have programmed it still coming up an 87 or something although the label says it's an 84. i'll contact him and see if i can get the correct chip. thanks! i was going crazy here.
